along Charlottesville cool pedestrian mall, old fashioned comfort food with warm, fast service. Highly recommended for those who want a salad or burger with a milkshake.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a tasty homemade veggie burger in the middle of the very upscale historic downtown Charlottesville. Food was very good, service was great and decor was totally retro. Well done! Craig Herberg

The prices are reasonable and the food was excellent. Service was good as well. I had quiche and it was rich and filling. My son had the mac w/meatloaf and said it too was excellent.

Had family in from out of town and decided to visit The Nook for the first time for early dinner. It's kid-friendly and the menu had options for all six adults in our party with a couple ordering breakfast, several trying out the various 'Nook Macs,' etc. The Eggs Chesapeake was good, although the Eastern Shore Mac & Cheese had... We asked a local about a good local place and this was the first one she mentioned. Great portions and nice sandwich cafe. Service was friendly and fast. Good healthy choices and I walked away satisfied. Will be coming here again.

The menu is varied and the food is good. Especially enjoy the breakfast menu served all day on the weekends.

Can't say much more than everyone else has said here in the positive reviews. I like it that a bit of "Old Downtown C'ville" remains at The Nook. It's a classy and inexpensive place for a low-key meal, without the hipster vibe or big money aura of so much else in the town. Any breakfast here is a standout. We... More

I really enjoyed my meal at this establishment. My group arrived mid morning so we opted for breakfast. The service was prompt and accomodating to some small requests we had with our order. The highlights were the sausage gravy biscuits, pancakes, and the hash. The portions were large which was pretty much a good value for the price. The food... More

Maybe we hit it at a bad night but the food was terrible! We had 4 people in our group and the food came out different times, and nobody seemed to care to refill our drinks.

This place is a little crowded but it's because the food is great like in "home made" . Not as long a wait as in most places down town but worth a little wait !!
