Charlottesville Classic

This is the spot for a fine dinning experience in Charlottesville. There is a great bar downstairs and dining on three levels of this old brick building, just across from the train tracks. The menu is full and varied. Great steaks, lamb, pork, all locally sourced and fresh. Seafood and shellfish... read more

Slightly off the downtown pedestrian mall, C&O was easily the best restaurant we visited on our 3 day graduation weekend extravaganza at UVA. The restaurant was started in 1976 we were told even though the wood panels on the wall and some of the fixtures were a lot older. That made the place atmospheric like a barn house with a... More

$65 per person plus drinks. Reserve way in advance if taking out a graduate the night he/she graduates. We had 5:30pm after calling 30 times but was a happy tasty occasion.

Excellent food and service. This is a great place to go to in Charlottesville. Beef was cooked perfectly and the crab cakes were excellent/ Adjacent to the downtown open air mall with a lovely outdoor patio. Service was very good considering it was the weekend for final exercises at UVA. they also cater!

Years ago loved this restaurant. On Wednesday only one dish on menu, including appetizers and main courses, could be prepared without garlic. As my wife has garlic allergy, our dinner was a cheese and apple ravioli appetizer (tasty) and a cheese tray (not many crackers). Ridiculous that there wasn't anything in the kitchen that could be prepared without garlic. All... More

... and I live in San Francisco, foodie paradise. I ate there over a month ago, so I remember very little about the experience other than what I ate and the smile that it put on my face. (Good food makes me smile; just an instinctive reaction). I had one of the steaks (a special). It was amazing. Tender meat,... More

We (myself and 2 girlfriends) visited C & O the evening of May 1st. There was a short wait, so we opted to sit at the bar. We ordered drinks and perused the menu a bit. The bartender was so fantastic, that we ended up staying at the bar for our meals. I have food allergies, and he was SO... More

Great food, and Service. I wasn't that hungry so I had the veggie platter. My date had the Steak Chinoise. I ended up overeating anyway. The details were covered, kind of like the way they do it in Nashville.

14 30-somethings, myself and my 2 sisters-in-law had dinner here for a bachelorette party. It's very difficult to serve such a large group but we were given our own room and a wonderful server who could not have done a better job. Everyone enjoyed the evening tremendously. My salmon, basmati rice, asparagus, and chocolate bread pudding were all terrific. I... More

A cozy little nook set amidst two torches - you would think you need a secret password to enter. Order the braised lamb - you will not regret it! Ambiance = A+
