The last visit was much better than the few previous times. Food has improved along with the service.
Being from out of town just stopped in for appetizers thought the food was good and everyone was helpful with our questions.
I had high hopes for this restaurant based on other reviews but my hopes were soon dashed. Our reservation was late in the dinner hour-8:30 but they were expecting us and had a nice table for two ready. After we were seated we waited 5 minutes to be noticed and another few minutes to have our waters filled. Another two... More
This restaurant has a roadside bar appearance on the exterior, but a very rustic, subdued elegance, white table cloth ambience inside. Apparently this was an old C&O railroad employee room and boarding house. We ate in the cozy lower bar dining area. The music was an interesting eclectic mix, but was a little loud for my taste and became tiring... More
the meals were all a little bit too salty to my taste. the waiter offer us to taste a newly opened bottle of the same with we were drinking and also didn't change or offer to change our wine glasses with each new bottle
A Saturday night visit on a busy night still produced good food and service. The staff was attentive but not cloying, the food was very good....well prepared and nice-sized servings. We were seated in the Mezzanine, which was okay but very busy as the staff walked by constantly on their way to and from the patio area. The wine list... More
I enjoyed the taste of the food. This is a five star restaurant. Don't let the store front fool you. Great food.
I sure wish we had this restaurant close to home. From start to finish, the meal was excellent. We started with a warm tomato tart, which was a savory treat, though it was a bit too garlicky for my taste. My entree, the lamb shoulder, which consisted of a boneless portion of braised lamb in a rosemary-infused sauce with carrots... More
We first discovered the C&O in the early 1980s, when its end of town by the old C&O train station was pretty lonely and beat up. I remember there were still baggage carts rusting on the platform across the street from the restaurant, left years before after the last passenger train had rumbled through. Back then it was hard to... More
C&O pepsi sign outside would not lead you to suspect that a great restaurant lurked inside. However we were recommended to go -so ventured inside to a great welcome and a table in the downstairs bar area. It was noisy with people conversing at the bar etc. But people come and go and it is a great atmosphere. we had... More
