We came into Charlottesville for a concert and wanted a nice romantic meal. We had the trio of crab and it was small, yet delectible. However our steak and fish dinners were large and memorable. The al la carte mashed potatoes were so good. A great example of fine dining.

Food is yummy and service was great. I had the shrimp and grits which was out of the ordinary and delicious - generous portion. My husband had the tacos which were tasty, too. Very nice decor and calm environment.

Have eaten here several times and as always the food, presentation and service more than justifies the price. Menu varies and has some unusual parings that are very pleasing to the taste buds The venue itself is located with easy access to parking and you ca take a stroll after to help Remove at least some calories

The restaurant itself was very nice. My family enjoyed the place settings, linen tablecloths etc. Service was great, water glasses always topped off, food came quick. The food itself I would classify as slightly above average. Nothing to write home about, but a satisfying meal.

It all started because my bags were too bulky to carry any further....I saw nice blue glasses, bright interior and decided to give it a go for lunch....I ended up returning the same day with my son for dinner....Then, two more dinners....Never a bad meal. From crab cakes to eggplant, linguine with clams and finally a lovely fish with local... More

We went here for an anniversary celebration and both really enjoyed our meal. The shrimp and grits was among the best I've ever had. Our table was at the front of the restaurant and it was difficult to converse over the live music. We requested that they lower the volume, which they did, but it was still difficult in a... More

Hamilton's is located in the Charlottesville VA Downtown Mall, a great outdoor pedestrian shopping venue. We shopped along the shaded mall for a couple of hours then found our way to Hamilton's. Wife had one of the lunch specials, a salad of fresh greens and herbs topped with beautiful and tasty medium-rare steak. I had the crab cake and it... More

Great place for business lunch, however, I suggest you not get the vegetarian special. I got the regular fish special and it was wonderful, but my partner got the vegetarian special which was hardly a meal. It was like an appetizer and did not fill him up. I ended up sharing my fish entre with him. I'm not sure they... More

My wife and I recently moved to Charlottesville. We had heard good reviews of Hamilton's so recently decided to give it a try on our anniversary. The food was excellent and reasonably priced for a more upscale restaurant on the downtown mall. The preparation and quality of the meal was excellent. They had a robust wine selection. My primary recommendation... More

The food, service and atmosphere ate exceptional. Even at lunch; they have the same great food. Their vegetarian dishes don't make you feel like you are just eating vegetables.
