The interior of Hamilton's is very attractive - white linen, etc. My husband and I came here for dinner on our first night of our "getaway from our child even though we love him" weekend. Our server was lovely. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow and we are not sure why since the dining room was not full until almost... More

While walking Main St. on a quiet Monday night during our first night in Charlottesville we liked menu at Hamilton's and gave it a try. We were both very impressed by the presentation of our dinners and even more so by the wonderful flavors in our crab cake and pork chop meals. A variety of fresh vegetables blended well and... More

Service was slow, waiting awhile to get our order, and food took a long time to arrive. Food was just alright, never special. Portions are on the small side, so you may be hungry when you leave. Also was overpriced for what you get.

We had a late lunch. It was very good although limited. The service was excellent and the waitress Geraldine was one of the best we have had in a long time. Very attentive and accommodating. The wine list was excellent as well as the cocktail menu. We would go back.

After reading the reviews on this restaurant our party of 6 decided to make reservations for the evening. We were placed on hold for appro 5 minutes, not acceptable. We arrived, were greeted pleasantly by the staff, shown to our table and greeted quickly by our waiter. He was attentive, made suggestions and answered our questions. The food is not... More

The Best. Great menu, friendly staff. This restaurant is the most comfortable and pleasing places to enjoy a cocktail and dinner. It is the type of place you will return to time after time. If in the area you must stop. Located on the beautiful downtown walking outdoor mall.

In the land of Thomas Jefferson. Had the shrimp and grits recommended by our server (who was great) and they were delicious. The grits were super-savory, cheesy with roasted tomatoes and impossible to stop eating. Topped with perfect shrimp. Yow. The decor is a bit of an 80's time travel experience- they need to strip all that faux painted stucco... More

I have never stopped going to Charlottesville since my undergraduate days in the 1980s and this place is atop my list now of places to eat when I am there - great location on the mall for outdoor dining on a nice day, and everything we've tried was such good food.

We found this place through Trip Advisor (#2) and was not disappointed. We sat outside, which was nice, and had very good service. They had a nice menu variety as well. We had the charcuterie board to start and then lobster gnocchi (it was good but oily) and the chicken. They also had really innovative and fun drinks. Would go... More

Every time we go through Charlottsville we stop for lunch at Hamilton's. We have never been disappointed. The food is so good I order a glass of wine to compliment - then get my husband to drive the rest of the way. : ) Wine selection is also very nice. I recommend it to everyone that is in the area....
