Changed Place

This used to be one of our favorite places. The new owners have really changed the feel from warm to stark. The place was really crowded so I guess I am in the minority. The waitress was really great though and even let us taste the Caesar dressing before we ordered. The old restaurant had the... read more

Lots of great beers to choose from, and I love that they do samplers. You’ve got to try the Satan’s Pony. The food was good (mostly burgers), but if someone says they don’t want fries, and gets them, don’t make a bunch of excuses, just say sorry and take them back. Other than clueless mgmt. on that point, the place... More

This was my second visit. Beer is fair. Menu selection is not great and prices are a bit high for food. Service at the bar was acceptable but not friendly. I might go back but will not go out of my way to do so. There are far better breweries in the area.

The newly re-opened and remodeled store is much brighter and has a better layout than before. While I miss some of the former brews from South Street, the new lineup includes a few of the old favorites PLUS many of the great beers you're used to getting at Blue Mountain in Afton. The food is great and the fireplace si... More

I stopped by as this was one of the few breweries in the area that was open on a Tuesday. It's directly off the downtown mall (not really one of my favorite places in Charlottesville!) The beer is good and they have $2 12 ounce pours on Tuesday. I didn't have a meal there but did have their wings which... More

Nice location plenty of parking, great service and the beer selections were fabulous, but when we received our wings they were not very good, we think it was an attempt at high end wings but they failed. We all ordered burgers and the grill cheese all burgers were all undercooked and the grill cheese was not good at all. Actually... More

Beer still very good, but warm wood tones have been replaced with harsh bright white decor, like a school cafeteria. Food has gone downhill. Calamari way too salty. Hamburger mostly bun, fries soggy. Hard to understand, because the other brewpub they run [Blue Mountain] has very good food. mhas very good food.

Great service, decent beer, and a great atmosphere. A very chill place to hang out and eat the best Pretzel I've ever had. I've gone on a quest to find a better Pretzel since I tried this one about a year and a half ago. Unfortunately...I still have to go all the way to Charlottesville from Richmond to get the... More

Fun brewpub with a chill atmosphere. Beer is decent but could ask for more. The hefeweizen is definitely worth the 3.75 happy hour price. If downtown, definitely try it out!

Just released and fantastic. Growler refills at a competitive $8.50. Glad I had two in the car. Parking could be a problem during popular times.
