This has become our go-to restaurant in C'ville. We've taken our extended family here, colleagues and seminar speakers, or just gone by ourselves. I strongly recommend getting one of the "dinners for 2/4/6/8." It saves trouble on ordering. The eggplant and kaddo is particularly good, but you can order basically anything. We've never been disappointed.

Tasty food and a prime location to UVA. Diversified options and great staff who answered all the questions I had concerning the menu. If you're looking for something different, this is the place. Owner is hands on and always had a smile, something I can't say about other restaurants.

It's nice to have the option to continue working on a project when a business will deliver your lunch. I appreciated the friendly service. It isn't the best meal I've ever had but the lunch portion was generous and satisfied my craving for middle eastern. Good value and convenient.

We took a trip up to Charlottesville for the day -- nothing in particular planned, but lunch and a stop at Whole Foods, the closest one to our home 2 1/2 hours away. We searched through Trip Advisor and came upon our choice (Basil's) which turned out to be a disaster - see my review there. Anyway, we were mulling... More

It was a turn to the right, off the highway, for an adventure in Afghan cuisine! It was the right choice! What a wonderful meal, served by a wonderful waitress, in a wonderful little room that made us feel we were thousands of miles away from downtown Charolettsville, VA. The vegetarian samosa, and the leek dumpling with spicy sauce, Akash... More

I have eaten both lunch and dinner here several times, alone and with up to four persons. We have never had a bad meal here, and the portions are so generous that we've usually had enough for two or three meals afterward. The restaurant staff is very courteous, and attentive enough that you are never looking for them, but also... More

We went to Afghan Kabob Palace by chance - there are other Afghan restaurants in town. Service was excellent, the food (except for one tough lamb cube in one dish) was way above average, and the waitstaff did all they could to accommodate our requests. And the bill was ridiculously low for the quality - let alone the quantity -... More

Restaurant was quiet, we could easily talk. Afghan music in the background. Tastefully decorated. Everything was delicious, and hot. Service was excellent. Cost was very reasonable (two entrees, two appetizers - $30) What more do you want?

We were visiting UVA and got a coupon for this spot. Though the building looks a little unassuming, the food and the service were fantastic. I had the tandoori chicken - huge portion (may want to ask for some yogurt on the side!) . Came with a delicious salad. My daughter had vegetable soup, naan, and the leek dumplings. The... More

Having never had Afghan cuisine we thought we'd try this restaurant. The food was amazing! Great tasting, large portions, great presentation, very good value for money. The service was average. Server wasn't rude, just indifferent. Would have been great to hear about how the food was cooked, the ingredients used, etc., but none of that was forthcoming. Recommended but don't... More
