Title says it all, really. I like this place because they have northern and southern thai dishes on the menu and not the usually stuff I see on every Thai menu in the US. the staff is friendly and mostly from northern thailand. was good to speak thai again. PS: I'm not Thai, I lived there for a year.

While vacationing in the Gordonsville, VA, area our family took a day trip to Charlottesville. As dinner time approached we decided on Thai cuisine. We were in the Warehouse District which contained a "plethora" of restaurants. The restaurant we selected was Monsoon Siam. We were promptly greeted and decided to sit inside. There is a rather large dining area outside... More

A friend and I had lunch at Monsoon Siam. The lunch specials were soup or salad, spring roll, plus entree for $7.99 - $9.99 depending on your protein. I had the Panang Curry with tofu and vegetables, which was delicious. Just the right amount of spice to make it interesting. Soup was a chicken broth with tofu. Spring roll was... More

We ate at Monsoon sometime in 2012 and had a horrible experience. We then heard they recently changed owners and decided to give it another chance because of its proximity to the downtown mall. What a difference! The food was delicious and packed with flavor. It took us a little long to be seated (45 minutes past or reservation time)... More

If the weather had been 10 degrees hotter & more humid we might even have thought we were in some small restaurant in Thailand itself! We were "walk ins" on a Sunday evening - restaurant around 1/2 full. Staff were relaxed and friendly, and above all the food was excellent. The green papaya salad was spicy and refreshing, the tom... I love Thai food, and as a vegan, I find that Thai food restaurants usually offer me the best options. Although most Thai chain restaurants are very good, there is always something lacking, but not here. The food choices were excellent, and the food was superb. It was an excellent dining atmosphere, with meals that looked and tasted as if... More

Monsoon Thai is run by very friendly and nice people. They serve lunch specials which are a great value and their Pad See Ew with Chinese broccoli is excellent.

I have not had much Thai food, so I chose the same thing as the friend I came with - the Pad Thai. It was good, but I think a little bland for me. However, I feel like that was the dish, not the chef. I definitely took advantage of the chilies they provided to add it (chilies and chili... More

One of my favorite places in Cville. Cozy, casual "homey" atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious options. Decent prices (better value for lunch). Parking is tricky on a weekend... but delivery is not very speedy. (in fact, not speedy at all!) So I recommend eating on site or carrying out. Really tasty options-- Pad Sea Ew highly recommended; as are... More

My wife and i ate last Saturday evening after a long day of hiking. Service was excellent and friendly. We had a curry dish and steak dish. I can't remember the name, but it was grilled flank steak with an excellent dipping sauce. Both dishes were very good and went well with the Singha! We ate inside due to the... More
