Has all the feel of a private country club . The setting is casual and the food is good. Abit off the beaten trail and GPS got dumbfounded the last part of the trip.

We very much enjoyed our dinner. But, it could've been better if a gentleman at the table next to us knew that he wasn't supposed to smoke (cigars). Eventually, the restaurant staff told him to stop smoking after we'd moved tables. The white wine recommended by our server was right on the money.

It's certainly way beyond standard pub fare, and being open until 11 on a Monday night pretty much saved my life! And in a very delicious way.

It was a beautiful night to sit on the bistro's open deck. Kirby our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. He waived the corkage fee on a nice bottle of red that we brought in ourselves. The food was a bit better than just good, the standout was the black-eyed pea fritters were really unique and delicious.

I stayed at the hotel and did not fancy driving again. This is the "casual" option in the Boar's Head Inn but it reminded me more of a standard hotel bar or the 19th hole at a good golf course. Food options are innovative and out of the ordinary - but also pricey. Biggest shock was that there are no... More

The Bistro offers several different experiences - lively bar area, family/couple dining, comfortable solo dining, outdoor dining, outdoor cocktails all with the laid back and beautiful atmosphere surrounding The Boars Head Inn.

Th boar's head is about ten minutes from downtown charlottesville, but feels further into the peaceful Virginian countryside. The lunch we had at the bistro was top notch. I had the peanut soup, first time, and it was tasty and filling. The waiter gave us a brief description of the ingredients, too. My husband had the Caesar salad. The dressing... More
