Great casual dining at The Boars Head Inn.

Good casual restaurant; delicious food served quickly by friendly and competent staff. Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our choices.

The dining room is very small and loud, our dishes were bland and our cocktails were way to strong. The down town mall has far superior food when dining casually.

Dear Matthew B., thank you for your TripAdvisor post. We appreciate your feedback. Bistro 1834 seats about 40 people and, yes, as the room fills and people are enjoying themselves the restaurant does get lively. One can always choose to be seated on the patio overlooking the lake behind the inn or in the Old Mill Room. In addition to... More

We stop by here a few times a year for a quick coffee and dssert date. Always a good variety of options. The service is generally good, but it can get a little noisy when the late-evening bar crowd arrives.

I only had an appetizer - scallops civeche, but they were to die for. Had a French wine recommended by the server and was not disappointed.

Loved the chicken sandwich, the fries were good, the cheesecake great! We thought for the money this was a better option than the Old Mill Room. The wait staff was friendly and if you ate early you probably will beat the louder bar crowds.

We spent two nights at the Boars Head Inn last weekend. On March 28 we dined at Bistro 1834. The pictures on the web sit make the ambiance look so attractive when in fact the tables are old and wobbly. The chairs are not leather and padded except for two tables in the back. Quite a shabby decor. The fish... More

We visited last spring and got a big snow. In fact we pulled in Sunday night after driving through the snow and this Floridian was glad to get here for food and a drink. The next night with so many places out we stayed in again. The food was very good especially the appetizer nut and cheese plate. It went... More

We arrived at The Boars head tired and hungry. We didn't want to get dressed up for The Old Mill Room. They are a bit dressy in that restaurant. The Bistro was excellent. A little crowded back where we sat, but not horrible. It wasn't loud with music, but nice enough for conversation at your table. I had a shrimp... More

We recently spent two nights at The Boar's Head and really enjoyed Bistro 1834. The room is lovely. It has a full bar, traditional tables, and overstuffed leather chairs. We spent a little time there each afternoon, enjoying wine and playing cards. In addition, we ate dinner one night. The appetizer nachos (basic pico de gallo) were fabulous and large!... More
