Not living up to the hype

Brookville has created a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. Lush interiors, exposed brick, slick leathers, dark woods, and burlap. Upscale, but casual and relaxed. Fantastic use of space. It was a visual and touch experience of contradictions. And it was beautifully done. If this review was... read more

If this review was solely regarding interior design, Brookville would easily have attained 5 stars. Unfortunately, the theme of contradictions... More

We went for New Year's Eve, our first visit, will be our last. We walked in and really liked the first room we walked into, the next room was a combination of rustic cute décor with cheap wall frames and photos that really took away from the overall appeal of the place. Our server at first seemed nice but became... More

My husband and i ate here on New Year's Eve and i have to say it was a bit of a dining disappointment. I'm predominantly vegetarian but will occasionally eat fish and seafood. We looked over their menu before making dinner reservations and it seemed like there would be several offerings that i would be able to eat. The night... More

Situated in a loft overlooking the downtown mall and looking right into the indoor skating rink, the room you arrive in after climbing the stairs is gorgeous - brick walls, hardwood floors, and a beautiful bar with open ceiling. Unfortunately, this is one of three best parts of the eatery. Food is so-so, not better than average. My vegetarian ragout... More

The idea for this restaurant is great, they just haven't figured out the drinks and food. Locally sourced and organic was a huge draw. We started with oysters done just right, and sausage with syrup- it was had to handle and share. One diner was very disappointed with the way his drink order was handled. First they didn't have the... More

I came here for brunch the other weekend, and the giant pancakes were the big hit-- literally. The 'B.F.P.' of 'Big Fluffy Pancake' can feed two or more. The Bloodys were fresh tasting, full of tasty horseradish, and topped with a crispy bacon slice. Will be back!

We went to Brookville for brunch yesterday were very disappointed. I had the Brookville Griddle--what I imagined from the name was the restaurant's signature dish. Unfortunately. It was completely dried out--from the egg to the pancake. And, the bacon was burned. We will not be going there again.

This restaurant gives all new meaning to locally sourced! Everything on their menu comes from locally farms, purveyors, wineries. The creative menu will delight your from the waffle chicken to pork chop with fried egg, local chicken providing eggs! Bacon flavored ice cream brings it home.

The drink list & menu celebrate local producers and farmers; there is a very cool bar, and the atmosphere is all wood- you feel as if you are dining in an old barn that has been refurbished as a casual-elegant restaurant. If you're a New Yorker, this is as Brooklyn as it gets. The food is tasty and good- nothing... More

We had the best time at Brookville. It was date night for the hubby & I. Between the best burger, bacon popcorn, grilled asparagus, plus chicken & waffles, from local sustainable farms, I'm not sure how it could have been better. That just baked bacon cookie at the end was the perfect finish to a wonderful meal. We cannot wait... More
