Located on the west end of the mall in a small upstairs space previously occupied by several other restaurants. It is located over a bar and I was afraid that external noise could be a problem but it wasn't. The interior got to be extremely noisy when it filled up. The building is old and the floor and table shook... More

I guess I didn't take the other reviews as seriously as I should have - when we saw that pork was the theme. Just a bit over the top for our liking. My husband got the pork belly - and that was exactly what it was. 2 inches of fat/pork belly. Being somewhat health conscious folks - he didn't eat... More

We were in Charlottesville for a few days and had a wonderful experience at Brookville Restaurant. The restaurant is located on the pedestrian mall and is nestled on the second floor. The atmosphere inviting, casual with an elegant feel. We were excited to taste their local and changing menu and it was outstanding! My husband and I shared the porkbelly... More

WE came to see the Virginia Gentlemen at UVA and did the historic downtown looking for an unusual place to eat and WE FOUND IT!!.. TRY the popcorn cooked in bacon fat; YUM (don't do it too often) ALSO they have fried bologna, great hash and home made fingerling potato chips; the view from upstairs looking down to streetlights at... Long story short...atmosphere and service were ok....food was excellent and all locally sourced. Food report: Bacon Popcorn: Just the right amount of bacon drippings....not swimming in grease, but very tasty Braised Lima Beans: not bad, but comparatively bland Roasted fingerling potato hash: Maybe the best dish of the night.....with bacon and gruyere cheese - topped with a soft fried egg... Only local products and produce are used. Bacon and pork belly are prominent on the menu. Bacon waffles and vegetable stacks are wonderful. The menu changes depending on what is available. I heard good things about the menu and when I got there, it was different. I picked what sounded good and was not disappointed. I enjoyed the change of... More

Everything is somewhat local and fresh and the menu is interesting. Some of the items I never would have tried but so glad I did. They also have good deals - the night we were there was half off VA wines! The salad we got was simple but so good. Our entrees were delicious...one tried the chicken, another the pork... More

This restaurant has many suggestions of upper middlecrust elegance - the very short menu, the pricing, the atmosphere. But what they really sell is comfort food, with just about everything infused with bacon, including the chocolate chip cookies available for dessert. You might call it a Bacchonalia. I had the giant 12 oz hamburger (with 2 oz of gouda! and... More

I would give it a 3.5. Seven of us had lunch at this farm-to-table gem in the mall. Reviews were mixed--those who had sandwiches containing bacon were pleased--a BLT, an unusual ham-and-cheese. The chicken salad was more mayonnaise than chicken, but the chocolate chip bacon cookie was worthwhile. Pleasant surroundings and service.

Wow, what a disappointment. Went here for a graduation dinner and they had a set menu, ok I could deal with that but there were 3 choices a chicken breast, Pork Belly and a vegetarian dish. Everyone tried the pork belly, 8 guest and they all had to have Pork Belly because for a $50.00 per plate no one was... More
