Restaurant week treat.

We went on a Fri. evening--dined on the deck. Wonderful service and elegant dishes. Strolled the grounds afterward to work off the bottle of wine we enjoyed with our dinner. Lovely country estate feel--lovely pool and cabana.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Clifton Inn. It is only a 10 min drive to Monticello, which is a huge plus. The staff is very friendly and made us feel welcome all the time. A lot of nice extra touches such as water on the front porch and in the room. The room was great and cozy. It... More

Dinner is Farm to Table and excellent although some strange foods to choose from. If you are a picky eater you may want to look at the menu on line first

Great little restaurant with outdoor seating and a chef's table. The menu changes seasonally and the chef's tasting is a fantastic way to experience what they currently offer. The staff was great and the food was fantastic. There were some really interesting wine pairings to complement each dish as well.

Ben the waiter was nice enough, table setting sparkly, food unusual but nicely presented, lovely grounds. But BOOM, as soon aas we were served our meal, the workers started tearing down the other tables in the room. CLACK AND CLANG removing the dishes, SWOOSH with the table cloths, SCRAPE with the chairs, RUMBLE rolling the tables away. Very distracting and... More

I had never dined at the Clifton Inn and thought that restaurant week would be the excuse to drive over for the experience. First impressions were that it's not as elegant as I thought it might be--especially when compared to some of the other higher end spots to dine in the area. The dining area was . . . well... More

We both had the agnolotti and then the pork. We have eaten here whenever in the Charlottesville area. This time was disappointing.

The appetizer vegetable salad with small, service was slow the steak was tough and 3 1/2 hours later we had to leave before our dessert game. Didn't even consider sending anything back since it took so long anyway .

I was taken here for my birthday after having been here several times before. The first impression was that the host wore baggy jeans with a sport coat and our server had a very dirty apron on. Basically, they are resting on past laurels because the food is bland, poorly thought out and executed. The bread, while delicious, was not... More

My salad was a few vegetables with a barely discernable, bland dressing. The scallops were good, but some of the beets were undercooked. The "confit of duck" was not the usual slow cooked duck leg. Instead I was served a few undercooked vegetables and two RAW slces of duck breasts. I sent them back. At this price point, I would expect... More
