The Inn is a little intimidating at first, especially on a quiet evening, but don't let that stop you from stepping out of your comfort zone. We were not hotel guests, but patrons of the bar and lounge area, and impressed is an understatement. The bartender was engaging, and attentive, but not overly so; Courtney, the Restaurant Manager was welcoming... More

This place could be really great. Has good bones. Staff needs to step it up, clean it up and spend a little money to make improvements.

My wife and I have enjoyed many dinners at The Inn and thought the pricing was appropriate. However, this last visit, for our anniversary, however, was met with surprise and disappointment. The portions couldn't have been smaller and the pricing was outrageous for such tiny portions. The first clue that we were in for a surprise was when the waitress... More

The portions were small and the prices reflected their reputation as "gourmet"....will not go out of my way to visit again. Beautiful setting with excellent service, however.

This was an amazing experience. My wife and I did Chefs in the Garden on our honeymoon last week and although the price is scary at first, it was well worth it. The Clifton Inn is gorgeous, the dinner was AMAZING and the experience was second to none. Highly recommend this if it's available while you're in Charlottesville.

First, my rule is the pricier the dinner, the better it should be. The restaurant sets the standards by their price. The Clifton Inn failed. Our dinner was $265 with two cocktails, a medium priced bottle of wine and tip. I had three courses, husband had five, well, not really, but more on that later. First, we started with dark... More

Both kids away so we took advantage to escape for an evening. Dinner was at 730 so took to the bar around 7 (try the Retro - like a manhattan with a cherry and soda) for a little nosh before seating. The chef brought out a couple snacks - tempura goodies, and some berries just taken from the garden. We... More

My husband and I ate dinner at Clifton Inn while staying there as part of our 1st anniversary trip. We like to try Relais & Chateaux restaurants and hotels. Dinner was delicious! We opted to pair different wines from Clifton's selections with our courses. The input from our waiter was very helpful. The pace of dinner was relaxed without being... More

This place seems to have declined in recent years. The service was slow and disorganized. A server brought us the wrong meals and was gone before we could tell him of his mistake. After we were able to flag down our waitperson to let her know of the mistake, we spent another 20 minutes waiting for our meal, which might... More

Thank you for taking the time to review us after visiting with us on Easter Day Brunch. I am glad to read that you enjoyed the food and found it "very good."
