Low key eats on the downtown mall

Rev Soup is our go-to place for a quick bite to eat on the Charlottesville downtown mall. It is convenient to the Violet Crown movie theatre, as well as numerous music venues. The soups are great, often designated as vegetarian or gluten - free. I always get the salad with shrimp, along with a... read more

This restaurant is below ground featuring good reasonable fresh food. They offer 2 choices if you should want breakfast. The adequately sized tables are close together and almost constantly there were lots of people lining up to order. Having to order and pick up at the counter must keep the prices reasonable. It was so noisy that we could hardly... More

They had great food. They had something for everyone in our group, including my Vegan daughter. The staff was very friendly and offered suggestions. Not many places to sit, but it has a great atmosphere.

We followed a local's recommendation for a quick lunch that wasn't fast food as most know it and were really pleased with the suggestion. The Crab & corn soup and Spinach salad were wonderful...also enjoyed a Thai wrap as well as a Turkey wrap. RS is housed in an old building that would probably best be described as a "dive"... More

I went here for the first time and really enjoyed my lunch. I had a hearty lamb curry stew and a chicken curry salad. Both were very fresh and tasty. If I lived in the area I would frequent this place often.

Love this place! First visits were almost 20 years ago as a grad student at UVa, and found when I ate there today that it hasn't changed much. Substantial menu of tasty soups and sandwiches, with gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options, at a decent price. They have a Student Special, which was definitely appreciated in my poorer days. The... More

Went there after stree market. I just loved the atmosphere: very friendly, simple, not fancy but trendy with nice people enjoying life, being with friends. Food is very good, I loved chowder and soups overall (could taste different soups).

Rev soup is a staple in Charlottesville. The peanut tofu soup is great if you like spice. They also make a nice clam chowder. It's a fun place for lunch.

Can't go wrong . Good soup. Sandwiches and salads. Consistently crowded. Simple is good! My favorite is a fresh arugula salad With white beans, roasted tomatoes, parm and lemon dressing.
