I had heard about this restaurant, and wanted to try it out, especially the Chicken Chettinad dish. So I was but disappointed when I walked in for a Sunday buffet and didn't find it in the buffet. I was asking the person in charge if it would be available á la carte, and he simply accommodated us by saying he... More

Every morsel was a treat, especially my chicken curry with a collection of delicious side dishes. (I can't remember whether they called it "chicken meal" or "chicken dish.") If I lived nearby, I could become a regular. As it was, it was a short, easy walk from Comfort Suites Dulles Airport. Walk elsewhere if you don't like spice.

We usually order take out from this restaurant and every time it is a hit! The food is very spicy but nice spiced and flavored in comparison to other indian restaurants. I've had the chicken biryani, paneer makhani, vegetable kootu and the payason . The only thing i haven't liked there is the lassi, it had an odd taste.

It used to be good, but looks like they have modified some menu items and it is not good. I will never go there any more until they change back to old menu.

You need to take two things into account before going to Karaikudi 1. This is not your typical Americanized Indian food. It is from a southern region and though you may see some familiar looking items, these are not tailored to watered down creamy American tastes and are quite authentic. 2. This food is hot!!! Like atomic tears streaming down... More

Anyone who is interested in trying out some delicious and more unusual (in the United States) Indian foods should definitely come to Karaikudi -- especially to the weekend lunch buffet, which allows you to sample many different vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes (for just $13). This place gets very crowded on the weekends, though, so either show up right at noon,... More

One of my favorites! It is authentic Chettinadu cooking. It feels like eating at a restaurant in South India. It is one of a kind restaurant in the area. There are not that many South Indian non veg places around. However the food is spicy. If you are not from that part of the world (States of Tamil Nadu, Kerala... More

First off, what kind of Indian restaurant doesn't have Tandoori Chicken? Really? It's not like the place was packed full of people. We were the only ones there for at least 10-15 minutes before another group came in. So we ordered a different chicken dish and a goat dish. Both were supposed to be "mild" on the spice. However, when... More
