The quality of the seafood begins with the owners knowledge and ability to buy the freshest seafood available. The chefs turn the seafood into excellent meals you can enjoy while dining on the waterfront. We usually come by boat to enjoy a casual meal. The fish, crab meat, scallops or shrimp are always a great choice.

My daughter and I got oyster dinners, cream of crab soup. The staff and food was outstanding. another quality DDD joint knocked off my list.

We went to this place while visiting family in Virginia. Seven of us descended on the restaurant with no reservations but were seated with no problem. At the outset I will say that I do not like "sweet" foods served with my savories (the cornbread, hush puppies, etc. that are typically served with southern food) so I do not eat... More

Come casual, come hungry! With a view of the Jones River I was in hog heaven! Well, Smithfield is just down the road! Have to get the crab soup - Delish! Lots of crab, flavor, and served piping hot. If I were part giraffe, I'd have licked the bowl. The crab cakes also all crab meat. Squirt of lemon ready... More

For the price, you should not be eating on paper plates and picnic tables. Did not like that most of the food was fried.

Although we have visited this area of Virginia numerous times, this was our first visit to Captain Chuck a Mucks. We came with a rather large group that traveled from all over, and our friend who was celebrating her birthday chose this place. Between all of us we had lots of variety of food and drink choices. The clam strips... More

We took our daughter for a birthday lunch to this unique seafood place on Saturday, Sept 27th. It was a beautiful day to eat outside by the water. It was our second time. Our first time was right after we saw it previewed on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives on the Food Network a few years ago. I have to say... More

First time here and we are amazed it took us so long to visit, being just 10 minutes away. Very casual atmosphere and great food. The fare is more expensive than other seafood restaurants but your dollars are buying fresh and well-prepared dishes. My iced tea ran out a couple of times but otherwise we had good service. The captain... More

This restaurant was great. We had wonderful service and great food. We ordered the Jamaican Jet Fuel and Sweet Tea(alcohol) drinks and they are great. They are on the water so we sat outside. Very nice atmosphere. They play Jimmy Buffet music to enjoy and loosen up. The wait staff is very friendly and know the menu and make suggestions.... More
