Stopped in of a cold beer while on a ride. Nothing fancy 2 Ultras. The price killed me, $5.00 a piece and $1.00 tax. $11.00 bucks for 2 beers HOLY FRIG! Hate to see the food prices! For a place so far out of the way you'd think they would be a little better to get customers. Oh well, live,... More

Friends took us here by boat for Soft shell crab. There are guest docks available for approx. 10 boats, very convenient! We were greeted by the Mgr in a friendly gregarious manner and seated promptly. Our waitress was there in seconds. Beverage service was immediate! We had hush puppies, "she" crab chowder and Soft shell crab sandwiches and fresh peach... More

We had family visiting from California, Montana, Minnesota and Oregon and they wanted a good seafood meal. We decided to go to Captain Chuck A Mucks and are so glad we chose this restaurant. Our guests were delighted with the location and also with the food. Several tried the soft shell crab for the first time and loved it. The... More

Nice little place, off the beaten path but right on the water at Jone's Marina. Stopped by for lunch and it was not terrible crowded (only about 2 other tables going). Laid back atmosphere with Jimmy Buffet radio playing. Tables covered by white paper and benches for seats, however the 2x4's that you sit on have just enough of a... More

Like most people who have probably visited recently, I first saw this restaurant on DDD. Figured we had to try it out since it wasn't too far of a drive. The seafood was EXCELLENT, the staff friendly and attentive, and the location on the James River picturesque. It's a little hard to find, but worth the drive.

Capt. chuck a muck's is a great day trip destination from the Va. Peninsula, Richmond or the Norfolk, Va. beach area. Good consistent seafood and a nice relaxing view. Plan on appetizers and sandwiches. The entrees are a little pricy for eating on paper plates. (just saying). A drive through the country and a beer on the deck make for... More

Wonderful seafood restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating on the water. Excellent fried oysters: came with two sides: had excellent green beans with fried onions. Interesting waldorf salad: vinegar base not mayo base with great seasoning. The garlic mashed potatoes are excellent as well. Hush puppies came with the meal. Huge portion of food: 10-12 fried oysters along with 1-1... More

my wife had the shrimp boat and fries, and I ate the flounder dinner with slaw. Food was very good, but a little pricey. We had excellent service with two friendly waitresses and the manager making sure everything was as we wanted it to be. Would be enjoyable outside in nicer weather,as a storm was brewing and we ate at the... More

Wonderful, unpretentious, local restaurant with some of the best food we have eaten. The portions are generous, well seasoned and fresh. Drinks are potent! The Captain is "crabby" and, if you are lucky, he will stop by to trade some jovial insults with you. It is truly a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a drink and sunset on the... More

My husband decided to return to a place we love for great seafood on New Years Eve this year. We made reservations and were glad we did as the place was full when we arrived. We were greeted and seated by the nicest folks and everyone is warm and friendly. We ordered the fish boat and the crabcake boat (sandwich... More
