Come for the beer and try the menu specials

The beer selection pulled me in and the food was better than expected. There are 20+ craft beers on tap. The menu is typical tavern food but the specials were not typical. I had trout piccata and it was excellent. The fish was tasty and had practically no bones (not an easy trick with trout... read more

Had a nice Sunday Brunch with our son from nearby Radford University. The menu was creative and the food well executed - I had pancakes with pulled pork which was excellent; French toast also reported excellent, crab cakes and omelets very good. Good selection of craft beer too as you would expect from a 'tap house'. Great staff and good... More

We visited here for brunch last Sunday. I had been here once before but it was not super good. This time was a different story. We started with Bloody Mary's. They are just $5 each if you order Smirnoff vodka, and have several choices of mixes. I ordered the crab cake Benedict. The eggs were poached perfectly, the sauce was... More

I ordered the Bison burger medium cooked and it was very tasty. It's not the best I've had but it was well worth the price. The only negative was the small portion of fries.

Excellent selection of draft beer. You don't see a Belgian Lambic on tap very often, but they had one. Food was well prepared and presented. Service was prompt and friendly. Be prepared for burgers and similar rather than full entrees. Overall, an excellent value.....

Very good burgers and vegetable satay. We had a very good experience at the Blacksburg Taphouse. They had a very creative way to serve water at the table. It was almost a perfect dining experience except that the black bean burger was slightly overdone. We will definitely be back in the future.

My boyfriend and I both really love cheese fries and have had them from pretty much everywhere around Blacksburg. We got the ones here as an appetizer and they were fantastic. The fries were nice and crispy and very well seasoned, there was plenty of cheese and the bacon on them was actual bacon, not bacon bits. The rest of... More

I dined at Blacksburg Taphouse for the first time with five friends. We left disappointed and I don't have much desire to return. It wasn't crowded, but took about 35 minutes before we were seated. When we ordered our drinks, they were out of two different beers. Not sure how a taphouse runs out of beer! One of the people... More

Excellent assortment of beers on tap! I had checked their website before arrival and was excited to see they were advertising fresh trout. Unfortunately the server said that had been gone a few days. We ate on the deck which was nice but my sandwich was a bit dry. Not much in the way of parking available but overall an... More

Only got burgers and fries but they were very good. Ate outside on the deck and then found out it was "dog friendly" which we weren't wild about but it was ok.
