Excellent Greek Salad

Food is very tasty. Service is good but can be a little slow when crowded. We eat there every time we visit. Good value.

I was staying at the Main Street Inn and walked down the road to The Cellar. It was very crowded so I couldn't sit outside. I sat the bar, instead and ordered a Greek Veggie Sub and a Harp. Perfect! I could see making this a permanent hangout. The only weird thing was the barstool was kinda low. Maybe it... More

My husband and I recently moved to Blacksburg and so far this is the best local restaurant we have found. Their food is mostly sandwiches, which are really good. They do have salads and meals, too, but we always flip to the sandwich part of the menu right away. The drinks are cheap, and the service is almost always great!... More

Went for lunch while on business in Blacksburg. I got the personal pizza, which was really about a 10" pizza. Could choose any 3 toppings for a lunch special. Pizza was very good but too much for me to eat and unfortunately I had no way to take it with me!

Great as always. The beer is great and the food is fantastic. Even the service is good now. My favorite place in Blacksburg.

We recently spent a day in Blacksburg, Virginia, and had dinner at The Cellar. A family member lives and works in Blacksburg and recommended the spot. It did not disappoint. We sat in the downstairs section, at a booth in the corner. It has a real college-town vibe, with lots of selections of beer and a large menu. The food... More

As an alumnus of Virginia Tech, I definitely spent a few nights here. Food was always delicious, whatever I ate. Beer selection is one of the few bars in town with anything more interesting than Magic Hat #9 or Guinness. Speaking of which, 5 days a week from 6-7PM, Hammertime. $7 pitchers of everything, including DFH 60 Minute, which is... More

Let's be clear on one thing: Garlic Bread. Something a baby pterodactyl could make in 10 minutes. Bread, butter, and garlic. Really not much to it. So, I find it astounding (50 years ago I'd say flabbergasted) that The Cellar can't handle making decent garlic bread (it was horrible). Other than the garlic bread, The Cellar is a pretty solid... Celebrated our arrival in Blacksburg on a recent bicycle tour! I'm gluten intolerant so GF is a must. The pizza crust was okay...the premade kind but that's typical since so few people order it but the GF beer was great. Staff was attentive and the place wasn't too crowded. Off season for the university and late weekday lunch to boot.

The lasagna is fantastic--I don't know about other entrees because I always get the lasagna because it is so good. The cucumber dip is also delicious, especially with the pita wedges. The atmosphere is very loud, college hangout-type place. I have only been in the upstairs restaurant. They're open until 2 A.M., so a great late night place.
