Great food with good service. Also a nice wine menu. Pleasant atmosphere, but can be crowded on weekends.
Pretty good food, good service - not cheap but good value with quality food and big portions. I still find it slightly disappointing that it is more in style with an Olive Garden than a truly Italian family restaurant.
Sal's never disappoints! I've never had a bad meal there and for that reason it's always the go to place for special occasions. There's one other Italian restaurant right in Blacksburg but Sal 's far surpasses it.
Sal's is a hometown joint where the food is amazing and fresh. Sometimes a bit of a wait, but worth it. The service has always been good when I've been there. I've eaten inside and outside, both of which are nice. The meals may seem a little pricey, but my husband and I usually split one because the portions are... More
They have an extensive menu including typical Italian dishes and also several specials which are very good - usually at least 2 seafood specials.
We eat here or pick up pizza fairly often so I feel like I have a well rounded view of the place. Its good. Not great. Service is good, not great. Takes a little too long to get your food, but they are often very busy. I agree with some reviewers about specials...they are VERY overpriced. 6.95 for a CUP... More
Always a great meal at Sal's. They also server gluten free meals. My favorite is the spinach ravioli, but their pizzas and calzones are also great.
My family and I visited Sal's based on the great reviews but were somewhat disappointed in the service. It took over 30 minutes to get our appetizers. Several of our orders were improperly prepared (requested no onions and received onions, white sauce was requested but received red sauce, and medium cooked beef was prepared instead of the requested rare). On... More
Sals in Blacksburg is a decent restaurant. We've eaten here many times and I would normally give it a 3 or 4. The food is not great but good and in the past I've found it to be a reasonable value. Recently, however, we were gouged. Our server, though very nice, did not know the price of the specials. Since... More
Very busy place, which is a good sign. The pizza was good, though I can see where if you weren't paying attention to the $2/topping you could spend more than you wanted to spend. We ordered two medium pizzas for our crowd, and spent less than we had at Souvlaki's...
