Thouroughly enjoyed everything. Salad looked like the ones I make at home and tasted way better. It was just what We needed after some long travels. Thank you!

I love what looks like Gillies brand promise - respect for the body, respect for the earth, respect for each other. Sadly, the brand is not reflected in the way customers are handled. I am not familiar with Gillie's methods: * you must put your own name on the sheet to get a table. * you must read the verbiage... More

I wanted to celebrate with my friends because I proposed my dissertation. I'm a vegetarian and sometimes finding food I can eat and not eating at the same place all the time can be a task. I always wanted to go to Gillie's and this seemed like a great time to go. The atmosphere was eclectic and fun with live... More

Know going in that you will not get meat. Once you have crossed that threshold, always difficult for me, you should be able to find something to eat. French toast and huevoes rancheros are pretty good. The place is a bit overly self-consciously hippie. The staff really need to go to the Salvation Army and upgrade their wardrobes.

I was quite surprised how good the food was. My daughter loves Gillie's. We went there last Tuesday, March 10 and I totally enjoyed dinner.

If you find yourself in Downtown Blacksburg and you're hungry, you may want to check out Gillies. In an area that has little in terms of vegetarian dining, this place hits the mark on most things. Having visited a number of times, the service is always friendly and the food is better than average. Their brunch menu is great and... More

Ever since I gave up eating meat and dairy I've wanted to visit this restaurant, so my husband finally took me for Valentine's Day. We got there about noon on a very cold day and the small restaurant had a number of people waiting outside. They make you wait outside as there is no room inside. When we got to... More

Flavorful grits, coarse-ground, possibly from the same (rebuilt?) mill that Patrick Henry used to use. Imaginative specials, and very vegetarian friendly. The 122 is a bargain, about $5+ for eggs, grits or yummy potatoes, fresh buttermilk biscuit or fresh ww bread, and Numi tea or Honduras shade-grown joe. Nice lunch options; soup and salad is a deal. We don't eat... More

Although I am not a vegetarian, I decided to try Gillies as it was rated so high on Tripadvisor. Had a veggie burger with white cheese and it came with red cabbage slaw. The tea I ordered was a blueberry tea which I had never heard of, but it was very good. The entire meal was quite delicious and the... More
