Breakfast, lunch.

I'd go here just for the grits. They can vary in how creamy or buttery they are, or how runny or stiff they are, or how chewy they are, but they are always the best. You have never had grits until you have had grits at Gillie's. If you get there late enough in the morning, they'll be gone. I... read more

The most important thing for a successful restaurant is its food. From all the menu options, I ordered the BBQ Shrimp Pizza. The first two characteristics I could judge of the dish were its presentation and smell, which showed me in advance how my experience would be. Its presentation did not capture my attention, and the ingredients were cut in... More

I visited Gillie's Vegetarian Cuisine restaurant with my friends in December 2015 for lunch. Before going to the restaurant, we checked the website of the restaurant that was good and informative. Finding the restaurant was not hard at all. Gillie’s is located in Blacksburg downtown, which makes it easily accessible by bus. However, the downtown area is always full of... More

We stopped by at 6PM on a Friday prior to a concert that we had tickets for at the Moss Center for the Performing Arts. The place was packed; every table was occupied and some stools at the counter were as well. We seated ourselves at the counter, gave our name to the host, and enjoyed listening to the musician... I eat at Gillie's about once a month and have for years. The food is consistently delicious and the menu selection is outstanding. The ingredients are fresh and the prices are reasonable. The character of the restaurant is excellent and quite homey. The only reason I didn't give it a five rating is because the service is spotty. Sometimes, I... More

I've been going to Gillies for years and the food has always been very good. However - the service can be pretentious and lazy. Once, I practically had to drop a water glass on the floor to get the server's attention to place my order (she was chatting behind the counter with another server). They feature live music at times... More

Right on the edge of Campus and what a treasure. Stopped in for dinner and was not disappointed. Convenient, and good food. My wife had Tofu Gado-Gado with Seitan, she enjoyed the dish but not the Seitan so much, it tasted like it soaked up oil when fried. I had the Smoked Henderson, not completely vegetarian but it was very... More

Good food, good service. Very accommodating for large group of 13 people even though it's a smaller dining area. Excellent choice for anyone looking for a breakfast/meal not centered around meat.

I've been here a few times for breakfast and once for dinner. Breakfast is always amazing and there are so many choices. They do get crowded so they do kind of rush you through your meal and ask you to leave when you are finished (which is kind of annoying ) so come early. Dinner was good, but breakfast is... More

You are going to wait if you come on a weekend after 9am, but it's with it every time. It's very rare to get a dud at Gillies. Very rarely are the biscuits dry or the menu items unavailable - unless of course you arrive at 1pm on a Saturday! Sunday mornings can get busy too, but if you arrive... More
