Great Pot Roast

My daughter and I visit the Weston Playhouse every year and we love to stop here for a bite to eat before curtain. The dinner crowd is mostly theater goers so 5:00 is a tough reservation to make. We enjoy eating at the bar, particularly right in front of a signed photo of Robert Frost. The meals we... read more

the food is ok, but you are kind-of stuck if you're going next door to the Vermont Country Store. I can only speak for lunch though (it was pretty basic: mac and cheese, chicken pot pie, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc). nothing exciting. but they do the trick. I was told there is nothing else in town to sit down and... More

We were making the mandatory visit to the Vermont County Story that everyone must make when in Vermont. Our tummies led us to the Bryant House next door since the restaurant choices are limited in the small town of Weston. It looks like an old tavern with lots of wood and has some really neat Americana on the walls. We... More

Winter had kept us pretty close to home, so we took advantage of a beautiful sunny day (with dry roads) to make the scenic drive up through Vermont to the Country Store and Bryant House. Bad timing on our part to arrive just after the entire restaurant had filled up, but the friendly hostess invited us to sit at the... More

My husband and I decided to celebrate our first anniversary relaxing in a quiet winter wonderland weekend get-away. I can honestly say that the food and the staff at Bryant House made our weekend. Dylan and Sandy kept our beer glasses full of the excellent Vermont beer, Switchback. We stayed at the Inn at Westin and walked to the Bryant... More

You can't visit the Vermont Country Store next door without eating at their restaurant! It has real New England style food served in an old house. The sandwiches are great and the half-sandwich and soup choice is a wonderful feature that more places should offer. I just wish it was closer to my house.

We been eating a lot lately. Love the burgers for a smaller meal, and the Farm Chicken for a full dinner. My husband is a big fan of the plank grilled salmon. Our preference is to eat in the bar, it's warm and cozy in the winter and has a lot of personality. If you go there, don't miss the... More

We stopped here at noon on a weekday when we were just passing through town. First impression - clean, cozy and sun-filled rooms (it is an old house with several dining rooms). Menu has a nice variety of comfort food meals made from locally sourced ingredients. We were the only occupied table in the front room when we arrived at... More

A great family time after Christmas with kids and grand kids. Eight of us for dinner and service was spot on. Menus has more than enough variety for all tastes and the relaxing atmosphere is most pleasant. Not the Ritz but affordable and reliable.

I had the Clam Chowder as an appetizer followed by the fried chicken tenders that were home made with mashed pot and veg. I really enjoyed my dinner and talking with their very friendly staff.
