Fantastic Breakfasts

We discovered Mary's Cafe on the fourth morning of an 8-day stay in Vermont, and we never ate the complimentary breakfast at our hotel again. The food is delicious, the portions ample, the prices low, and the servers warm and personable. It was a delightful treat to start each day there.

I have had lunch once at Mary's, a small local place. I had the daily special, hot turkey sandwich with green beans, stuffing and cranberry sauce ~ a standard dinner meal. Turkey was rather good, hand carved, not machine cut and the cranberry sauce was also good, but that is were it stopped. The beans were grossly over cooked, boiled... More

Step inside Mary's Cafe and you feel like you are coming into someone's home. It is very cosy and relaxed. The food is very good and reasonably priced. I had a Jerry's Special and it had a little of everything. Very enjoyable.

Can't beat the combination of great service, great food and great prices! Never have had a bad meal at Mary's. Might have to wait to be seated because of the quaintness of this place but it is well worth the wait.

You don't just go to Mary's for the delicious, fresh breakfast. Or the incredible homemade pies. Or the witty and cheerful waitresses. You go for the whole package! Such a welcoming and homey environment. There are many reasons why we come back just about every week, sometimes more. They treat you like family. They're affordable. Everything is yummy. Don't miss... More

My husband and I frequent Mary's at least once a week since their opening. To our dissapointment this past Sunday meal will be our last. Upon arrival (although busy) we were not greeted, not seated & we waited patiently. Finally, while my husband chatted I cleared off a dirty table and seated ourselves. Waited 15 minutes more for a waitress to... More

Very friendly service and tasty, freshly-cooked food. And don't skip the wonderful, home-baked pies.

Mary's is the complete package- great food, fast and friendly service, and low prices. I go there so often they know I don't even need a menu, and know what I will have to drink and eat depending on what day it is. Their Monday chicken and biscuits special is the best you will ever taste!

We live nearby, so we go to Mary's often for breakfast and lunch. The staff greet you with smiles, and care about you. Her specials are terrific, and her regular food is, too. By the way, her burgers are honest-to-goodness, hand-made patties, lovingly prepared. A word of warning, though: Bring cash or a checkbook. No credit cards accepted.

If you are looking for the great American breakfast (or comfort food lunch) when in the Rutland/Killington area, Mary's Cafe is one of the best deals around. Converted from a private home some years ago with a sunny family kitchen decor, she serves the standard assortment of bacon, sausage (links or patties), ham, hash, eggs, pancakes, french toast, etc, excellent...
