Great little Tavern connected ot the B&B

Came in late and they made a great vegetable plate for us. Had a local musician playing. Could not do the same the next night as they were packed, but we had a nice light dinner regardless. A definite must stop when in Dover.

Great food and music! We went two nights in a row because the food and service was so great. Try the fish and chips so good!

We ate breakfast there once, since we could not eat anything at the Inn we were staying at. Friendly service, very average food, everything served without care our attention to detail: maple syrup for the oat meal was served in a tiny plastic cup used in supermarkets for food sampling. When asking for jam, we were given three single serve... More

We are glad we could provide you with a breakfast and that you found the service friendly. We are sorry you felt the food was served without care or attention to detail as we put care into all we do in our family run country inn. I will pass along the feedback. More

Our friends and I stopped by this bar several times while competing in the Green Mountain Adventure Challenge. Cliff the bartender was a great guy and easy to talk to. We did not try the food, but the beer was great and the atmosphere was very nice. The other people at the inn were very nice too.

Stopped during our adventure challenge. We asked around town for dinner choice and everyone said to go to the 1846. I thought the food to be pricey and just okay. Waitress was busy but that doesn't excuse rudeness. Loved the town, but will not be returning to 1846 for dinner.

Thank you for coming to town to do the Adventure Challenge. In the future, if you are unhappy with your service please ask for or approach a manager so that we are aware of the situation at the moment. We have been busy with all of the challengers in town but we always work to offer the best service to... More

I spent good deal of time at the 1846 last weekend with my boyfriend and at various times of the day. For dinner I had one of their most popular dishes, the salmon, and it was one of the best salmons I've had in a long time. We later checked out the bar area where the bartenders were very friendly,... More

1846 had some delicious, upscale food, as well as good pub food, a full bar and live music. A good place to regroup while doing the Green Mountain Adventure challenge.

Last week I had the pleasure to dine at the 1846 Tavern with my wife and son. In the past the family had an agreement not to oder sea food when away from the shore. After reading the menu, and seeing that the chef was from Martha's Vineyard, I decided to take a chance and break the rule. My meal... More

Not the same old pub grub, they offer more interesting and sophisticated choices that are carefully presented and expertly prepared. Example, their spaghetti and meatballs is based on local meat and home made pasta. Their ribeye comes with potato puree and swimming in an amazing red wine reduction. We had a tuna duo with sashimi. Yet prices about the same,... More
