Decent local food!

We have been there a number of times and enjoyed our meals. Nothing memorable but comfortable, well-prepared and served competently. We went there on a New Year's Eve and were impressed that quality of food and service remained high, despite the holiday.

We haven't dined here in several years, and this was a nice find. Good food, good comfortable atmosphere. Liked the bar area, with lots of tables in a laid back setting. There was a nice selection on the menu too. TV's to watch sports. Also had a dining room with many tables. Will be back to try more good food.

We had a wonderful meal on New Years Eve. The rolls served with maple butter were so fresh. I had the halibut that was delicious and my husband had the short ribs that he said melted in his mouth! The dessert was delicious, home made chocolate mousse in an edible chocolate cup and apple pie. The service was very good... More

Sat at the bar, can't comment on the food because we didn't eat but the bar scene was fun. Different beers and mixed drinks. The younger bartender was spot on, good guy, made some great drinks. Nice neighborhood place; would definitely return.

We went to 1846 with a group and were pleasantly surprised to see the opening of the bar- very nice feel. The food in bar was a mix of entrees and 'bar food'. I had the salmon and was not impressed. Presentation was nice, but just too many flavors going on- and my all time favorite - flavor of raw... More

Food was great the 1st night & plentiful. Server was great. The second night was not good. The service was fair although she was nice. I ordered a medium burger & got rare, I sent it back & got burnt. Needless to say I didn't eat much. Take in to consideration it was Columbus Day weekend & the height of fall... More

My wife and I enjoyed our 25th anniversary dinner at the restaurant in the tavern. We loved the atmosphere and the dinner special. We both had their fried chicken over a Belgian waffle with Brussel Sprouts and maple bourbon sauce on top! Cliff, the front-end manager, made it a special night for us. We enjoyed the attention and his company!... More

The 1846 is family owned and operated, the staff is awesome and the place was recently renovated. The chef is one of the best in New England. It ranges from the best basics like burgers and steaks to the most creative new fish and handmade pasta dishes that rival anything you'll eat in NYC or Boston. Bottom line: this place... More
