We ordered take out on Friday October 10th: it was ready in 15 minutes and the MT was hopping. As usual it was tasty and delicious. Today Wednesday October 15th: went in to order take out again. It was not at all busy. Waited 45 minutes and ended up asking what had happened. Staff were hopelessly inefficient and not processing... More

You shouldn't judge the Mad Taco by its facade or it's location in a "strip mall" in Waitsfield. The food is the best Mexican you'll find in Vermont. We find ourselves driving from Middlebury to Waitsfield just for the Mad Taco quiet regularly. The interior is casual, you order at the counter and seat yourself. The menu has lots to... More

There was a large group of locals gathered at the bar, where you place your order, shouting loudly as they drank their beers. We found a room away from them, but the place needed cleaning and the seating choices were not very comfortable. The tacos looked interesting on the menu but in reality had little flavor. The fish tacos were... More

Fresh, funky selections, tons of sauce choices all rated on a 1-10 scale. Very informal, but the food is worth the stop. Had the Mad taco with sweet potato and black bean and slaw - great combo! Dress down for sure ; )

Okay so I will start with the fact that this place is a bit of a dive (being nice) what is important though is the food... And the food is good there is no cheese in the tacos... I got a chicken taco and an burrito... The burrito was not that good first night so i saved it for later...... More

Excellent tacos, great beer list, very reasonably priced. Great lunch spot as the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. Not the place for a night out with hubby!

A small joint in a strip mall with apartment stairs running up the front. Went with the family for lunch and a trip to the swimming hole. Kids didn't like bean burrito, which is a go to staple. Ended up happy with their cheese pizza. Husband & I enjoyed al pastor (smoker right out front) and fish taco. Ambiance is... More

I took my family here because of the great reviews. Unfortunately the food was basically inedible. Specifically the chicken tacos and burritos were terrible. The fish tacos were decent as was the enchiladas. We were a large party and no one really enjoyed their meal. Seriously, just go to another spot. Its totally not worth the price.

We are big Mexican foodies...and Mad Taco is by far some of the best tacos we have ever had. Who would have thought you would find such great, authentic Mexican in such a small town in VT. If you go, plan on waiting 15-20 minutes for your order because they cook a lot of their meats to order...and each time... More
