Italian home cooking. Eat at the bar, meet wonderful people.

I have eaten at the bar, talking with Tony or Jean Carlos and felt like family. They cook the way their Mother and Grandmother taught them and it shows. Simple, authentic, local ingredients. They know how to cook fish which is constantly excellent. Love the place.

My companion was not in the mood for a heavy Italian meal, so she ordered the escargot appetizer and the “winter salad.” Her salad was far superior to mine, with roasted beets, organic greens, and Gorgonzola crumbs, and a sesame/balsamic dressing. My dinner salad was just a pile of green lettuce--no tomatoes, no onions, nothing else, not even an Italian... More

We always enjoy Trattoria. The only complaint is the lamb dish is a bit lean and a bit pricey. But the house wine is good, as is their typical Italian fare. The service was better than last time. More attentive. Perhaps because they weren't as crowded

It was good for Vermont. I wouldn't say it was out of this world though. As a Ny'er I have a higher bar set for Italian. Marinara sauce was good, not great. My husband got veal which he very much enjoyed. My inlaws got lamb chop that they liked. Brownie ice cream sandwich dessert was delish.

Having owners always present, helps maintain a great restaurant. The place has not really changed much over the many years we have visited. The menu is consistently good and moderately priced. All entrees come with a small sized caesar salad. I have eaten many things here and have never been disappointed. Most recently I had the shrimp with angel hair.... More

The welcoming owners make every stranger feel immediately at home. It's the warmth and fun atmosphere above all, that has made this restaurant a favorite for locals and tourists for more than 25 years. You can always count on a good meal at a reasonable price. If you're a tourist dining alone, sit at the bar and you will become... More

My wife grew up in Naples, and the Bronx, so my family and I are very familiar with Italian food. The food here is good. We had an eggplant appetizer that was outstanding. The bruschetta was just ok, not as good as my mother in law used to make. The Caesar salad was very good, and the dressing seemed to... More

After a day of January Nordic skiing, our group of four were seeking just such a place as this. Classic Italian menu with some additional unexpected entrees served in a comfortable, attractive setting. We all had a variety of salads, veal, pasta and seafood dishes. All were very good to excellent. Portions were ample; service was friendly and professional. Will... More

Old time Stowe restaurant, enjoyed by both locals and tourists. We had 2 meals there on our last visit. Food was good. Staff was friendly. Very good selection of wine. Enjoyed the artwork on the wall.
