Fun Bar and Family Friendly

This is a short drive down the mountain from the Stowe Mountain Lodge. It is a bit of a dive but the food is good. We got pizzas and sushi which was fresh and very good. There are 2 pool tables and some arcade games which our kids loved (ages 7-16). Very casual and fun night. We went here... read more

Great place for dinner at the bar on a weekday. Very friendly service. Wood fired pizza was excellent as well as the steak. Excellent selection of beer on tap. Rock music on the speakers. Will come again.

We love this place pares ski. The wings are amazing and come in 3 flavors. We found bar seats and drank local draft beer while listening to a funky 3 piece band and people watching. Even our kids had fun at their own table. The bar scene gets hopping around 5 so get there by 3:30 for great seats.

Must say up front very friendly place. Jeremy, the senior bartender was great, took our food and drink orders with energy and enthusiasm ,pizza was very good ,beer cold and fresh. the sushi rolls on sale, order 3 pay for 2, sounds great however the fish portion was very very small , bummer on an otherwise very good time, .

Good place for drinks and enjoying apres ski activities. Enjoyed sitting at the bar with family and fiends watching the Pat's AFC Championship game. Service was excellent, food reasonably priced. Try their Thai bowls and Sushi items. They are very good.

Many local craft beers on tap. Rustic old building with a lot of character. Reasonably priced with good bar style food.

Went to this bar on a Saturday night for drinks. It was a great place to hang out- loved the TVs as we could watch the X Games while chatting and listening to the music. The crowd in there was fun, a very diverse group of people. They had a great live band right when you walked in the door.... More

It is tough to describe all that happened to us in the Matterhorn, and to the table next to us, and who knows who else. But Ill try to make is short and clear. The food is very good. The price is ok. The location of the place is very convenient. The place has character and personality. The but, in... More

We traveled across five states, driving more than eight hours to reach our destination, and it was our first time visiting Stowe, VT. And yet, bartender Paul made us feel right at home, guiding us through their exceptional selection of craft beers, and making great suggestions about their amazing sushi rolls. Even with all the bars and restaurants to choose... More

This review ought to be helpful to somebody looking to spend New Year's Eve in Stowe. We went to the 4 course meal they were offering at 8 pm. The food, the service and the overall atmosphere were great. More a 4.5 than a 5, but for the price, a fun time was had by all with party hats and... More

Hi Neil, It is undeniable that The Matterhorn has one of the top sushi chefs in the Northeast. He graduated from The South Korean Traditional cooking school and improved his sushi skills working in Japan, Russia, Germany and The UAE. He was the top sushi chef at Neta's ( rival of Nobu's) in NYC when we hired him. Obviously a chef of his skills will only work in a profeshional kitchen with top ingredients. Our pizzas are made from scratch and cooked in a wood fired oven the way they do it in Italy. We wouldn't even consider a convection oven. Our wings might be the best in the USA. Our steaks and burgers are all angus beef. My wife personally expedited all the food yesterday which feed over 600 customers. None of it took longer than 25 minutes. Our servers are the most highly paid in Stowe so we get the cream of the crop. I have owned The Matterhorn 17 years and we have always had a modest cover charge whenever we have a full band. We have a season pass to our live entertainment which costs $25 so that you will not have to pay any cover charges. We believe that establishments that don't charge covers for full bands or give away food are really just pleading to get customers in and embarrass themselves in our business community. . We have Greg Allman's son Michael performing here on Jan 16th along with Grammy award wining Charles Neville and award winning guitartist Jeff Pitchell. I can assure you that my wife and I couldn't be more proud of how The Matterhorn has evolved and of all the great people that frequent it. We find your comments both unfounded and hurtful.
