Great sushi and pizza!

Hopping place on the mountain road, busy all the time! Wood-fired pizza oven, yum. Nice but not overwhelming selection of local craft beer, considering there are only a million microbreweries in the area. My favorite thing: the live music was not deafening!

Our friend and local Stowe native brought us to the Matterhorn after a day on the slopes. We were there around 4 pm on a Friday so not too crowded. Sat at the bar. Friendly bar tenders. Large selection of draft beers, many from Vermont. Lots of food choices. We had some dry rub wings, then a little sushi. Both... More

Stopped at the Matterhorn on Stowe Mountain Road for a bite and beer. Extensive menu featuring fresh Sushi. Yep, Sushi in Vermont. Family and bar atmosphere with music at night. They were featuring dueling pianos when I was there. Great beer selection, and the DD had a half a pint which I thought was a novel idea. Worth a stop.

A great little find just down the hill from Stowe Mountain lodge / resort. We were considering a couple of different places further down the mountain road but decided to pulp in and give it a try. We were not at all disappointed! It happened to be a sushi night. ..they have been frequently flying in fresh fish and serving... More

You haven't skied Mt Mansfield/Stowe until you stopped for a beer at the Matterhorn at the end of the day. Wide selection of craft beers, great pizza, wings and sushi. What else can you ask for other than a powder day. A Stowe must do. I have been coming here for decades.

Just had great buffalo wings at the Matterhorn. Not greasy, not sloppy, great taste and food spice. Owner is a great ambassador. Bartenders friendly. Great beer selection. Was at Matterhorn last week and had great Sushi and Brick oven Pizza. If you are visiting Stowe there is no better way to get a feel for the area than to stop... More

As an Apre ski location is excellent! Rustic style. Plenty of different kinds of beer. Very friendly bartenders! Good pizza. Don't look for highen dinning. Smoking area is on the outside roofed patio with awesome view on the local stream. You should play at least one round of billiard. Just don't mess up with drunk owner ´s friends. Might end... More

During our New Year's week family vacation and visit to the Stowe Mountain Lodge, our family of 5 had dinner at the Matterhorn - another outstanding dinner, great atmosphere and service. Looks like just a ski bar from the outside but some of the best sushi we have ever enjoyed. We eat at Matterhorn during every visit to Stowe (3... More

Went here with 6 others. We had bought tickets for the New Year's Eve bash. First impressions were good friendly bar staff, lots of give always, nice crowd, but not heaving. Service was quick. We paid 40 dollars a head for entrance and buffet. The buffet to me was disappointing, considering the good food reviews. It was basically pizza pasta... More

Hi Neil, It is undeniable that The Matterhorn has one of the top sushi chefs in the Northeast. He graduated from The South Korean Traditional cooking school and improved his sushi skills working in Japan, Russia, Germany and The UAE. He was the top sushi chef at Neta's ( rival of Nobu's) in NYC when we hired him. Obviously a chef of his skills will only work in a profeshional kitchen with top ingredients. Our pizzas are made from scratch and cooked in a wood fired oven the way they do it in Italy. We wouldn't even consider a convection oven. Our wings might be the best in the USA. Our steaks and burgers are all angus beef. My wife personally expedited all the food yesterday which feed over 600 customers. None of it took longer than 25 minutes. Our servers are the most highly paid in Stowe so we get the cream of the crop. I have owned The Matterhorn 17 years and we have always had a modest cover charge whenever we have a full band. We have a season pass to our live entertainment which costs $25 so that you will not have to pay any cover charges. We believe that establishments that don't charge covers for full bands or give away food are really just pleading to get customers in and embarrass themselves in our business community. . We have Greg Allman's son Michael performing here on Jan 16th along with Grammy award wining Charles Neville and award winning guitartist Jeff Pitchell. I can assure you that my wife and I couldn't be more proud of how The Matterhorn has evolved and of all the great people that frequent it. We find your comments both unfounded and hurtful.
