A Stowe Classic

Such a fun place to take the kids - frappes have so much ice cream in them! Egg salad sandwich is very tasty and kids love the burgers. Lots of reviewers have mentioned cash only - I have no objection to this as it seems to keep prices down - have not noticed any price increase here, unlike some... read more

I went here for lunch today with my son. We had yet another great lunch. We've been coming here for 15 years, and it is a pleasure to see this place continuing to keep up a high level of quality. It is a casual burger joint and ice cream shop. Our cheeseburgers are always fresh, our fries are always awesome,... More

the depot malt shop is like stepping into the 50's with it's retro décor of Marilyn and elvis/and the music of bobby Darrin playing in the background/the food covers malt's/burgers/fries/onion rings/and the taste of these item's is mouth watering/very generous portions as well! A great staff!

This place is great for a fun lunch! Tasty, bad for you food - and a setting to bring back memories! We love going here with the nephews. Cash only. FYI.

This old fashioned malt shop had typical burgers and shakes as well as a few more modern menu options. The prices were a bit high ($8 burger served with chips) but the food was very good, the shakes were large and my mozzarella, tomato panini was delicious.

We really like this small shop. We are making it a yearly tradition to have lunch here. The cash only feature makes sense to us given the outrageous charges credit card companies levy on small businesses. We've never been disappointed. The skinny frappes and "fat' frappes are very good. The burghers my wife and daughter had were just right. My... More

The Malt Shop is ideally located in Stowe village close to stores and shops and just a short walk or drive from the new hockey rink. You can catch a great meal after the hockey in an old time ice cream shop with none of the contrived atmosphere found elsewhere. Prices are moderate, food is good and it's a comfortable... More

I'm sorry but waiting 20 minutes for a counter waitress to LOOK at you and say hello is unacceptable. Our food was in th window for 15 minutes and cold when we got it. Also forced to use an ATM because I guess this business struggles to make enough $ not to charge its customers to pay.

Thank you Benita for your feedback, I currently have a waitress on staff that will not be with us much longer. I'm sorry she ruined your visit. If you are in Stowe again there is a gift certificate at the counter with the name Benita on it. Best Regards Rachel Chevalier More

We've been to Stowe six times and have always eaten here at least once during eat visit. It is a quirky atmosphere with typical malt shop faire. We've always enjoyed our meal and service is typically friendly and good. The malts and milkshakes are good and usually more than we can drink. Sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads, grilled cheese, even chili... More
