This is a very nice old-timey type malt shop featuring sandwiches, burgers, and a variety of ice cream treat (including malteds). Our sandwiches were very good, as was the malted shake. Service was Very prompt and friendly. Ambiance was old malt shop and fun. Excellent value.

A block off the main drag, highway 100, is the Malt Shop. Open for lunch and dinner, the Malt Shop combines a mix of fine food, easy parking, and nostalgic history. We sat at the Marilyn Monroe table one night, and the Marlon Brando table for lunch. Burgers and other sandwiches are excellent. Malts delicious obviously. Picnic table are popular... More

When I was a kid, places like the Malt Shop were common. They're gone now. But the Malt Shop keeps the ambiance alive. Linoleum counter with metal trim. 1950s stools. Everything in this place looks 50 years old at least, but with a fresh coat of paint, not like an antique museum but more like stepping into the past. There... More

We too the kids here after a hike at Moss Glen Falls. It was Labor Day so it was pretty busy but we got in and sat right down at the old fashioned counter. 50's atmosphere and old fashioned feel. We came for ice cream only but looked at the menu which was quite extensive and reasonably priced too. A... More

This is exactly the kind of place I always envisioned people enjoyed in the the 50's and 60's and except for here in Stowe, have all disappeared. It's the real old fashioned Malt Shoppe with delicious mains and ice creams. The atmosphere is wonderful with the vibe of comfort and happiness. Love this little place!

Great spot to stop for a quick bite. The malt shop atmosphere is fun! It's cash only but they do have an ATM and they will refund part of the ATM fee.

The malt shop is fun for all. The food is typical malt shop food as it should be.The atmosphere is fun as each both and table is decorated differently taking us adults back to the old days when life was simpler! Ice cream sundaes are a hit with the kids. They no longer accept credit cards, so bring cash but... More

If in Stowe, this is one that you have to try! Food and service are super and this place is great for families visiting Stowe! This is a family business which is a big plus. They accept only cash, but have an ATM in the restaurant and will discount the fee off of your bill so it is really no... More

We visited the shop several times. Reasonable in price & pretty good food. Just remember, cash only.

This little shop seems much more authentic than some of the cookie-cutter "Happy Days" places scattered across the country. (And my husband and I are, ourselves, 50s relics, so we ought to know!) We did not eat a meal there, but the folks we met there were clearly enjoying theirs. We sampled the extensive ice cream menu, and found it... More
