If in Stowe, this is one that you have to try! Food and service are super and this place is great for families visiting Stowe! This is a family business which is a big plus. They accept only cash, but have an ATM in the restaurant and will discount the fee off of your bill so it is really no... More

We visited the shop several times. Reasonable in price & pretty good food. Just remember, cash only.

This little shop seems much more authentic than some of the cookie-cutter "Happy Days" places scattered across the country. (And my husband and I are, ourselves, 50s relics, so we ought to know!) We did not eat a meal there, but the folks we met there were clearly enjoying theirs. We sampled the extensive ice cream menu, and found it... More

A small family run operation that has been in Stowe for years. Lot's of nostalgic decor and atmosphere. The ice cream items are excellent. I've never had the food, but it must be pretty good as I always see many people eating there. I always visit this one or two times when I'm in Stowe for the car show

We spend summers just north of Stowe and usually make time for a trip through "Smugglers Notch" to eat here. The 50s decor is fun, the atmosphere is appropriate for the smallest of children, and the food is surprisingly creative, with offerings for those who prefer to avoid malts, fries, and burgers (but great offerings of these for those who... We went there for ice cream. There were not much choices for ice cream. The waitstaff was pretty rude, We ask if we can sit outside to eat the ice cream. They said no. So we had to find a place to sit to eat. Very small place no room to move. I feel everything was overprice plus that they... More

So many reasons to go here. Food is always delicious and so reasonably priced. The milkshakes are absolutely out of this world. We have our Fresh Air Girl from the Bronx who spends the summer with us, and each year we ask her if she can do just one thing this visit what would it be? Her answer is always... More

Just got back from lunch with my family. It included 3 grandchildren, 5, 3, and 18 months. The kids had hotdog and grilled cheese. They loved it. I had a bacon cheese burger with fries. Good meat, fries done just right. Crisp, and not greasy. Shared some onion rings and they were prepared just right. Every one enjoyed their meal.... More

OK, who doesn't like a good cheeseburger (swiss patty melt anyone)? or a great chocolate malted frappe? One can always count on some really fine eats at the Malt Shop. They have a pretty diversified menu both on the food and ice cream side. Decorated in the true style of the 50's. You can eat outside but to get the... More
