Trying to find gluten free/lactose free meals while traveling is difficult and dangerous. This restaurant and it's staff "get it". The best sandwiches I've had since becoming intolerant to gluten and lactose. Loved the Reuben so much, I went back the next day for a BLT. I found Stowe, in general, to be more gluten friendly than the average town.

We ate breakfast here. The food was good. They had many homemade items including cinnamon rolls. The atmosphere is very family friendly and comfortable.

This is a great spot. We love breakfast at McCarthy's and not just because we are also named McCarthy. The food is always great with some unique, delicious choices, the staff is friendly and accommodating. There is often a line but that is because it is so good.

Service not that friendly. Didn't check back to see how food was. Pancakes a little dry and when I ask for additional syrup she said there was a dollar extra charge for that.

We went to Stowe for a July 4th 3 day weekend. Stopped for breakfast at McCarthy's because my son wanted pancakes. It was busy with a line to wait for a table. Always a good sign!! We only waited about 10 minutes. I had a breakfast special which was so delicious! Unique omelette with pepper jack cheese, onions, tomatoes, cilantro... More

If in the area and looking for a country breakfast, then this place is for you. It is usually crowed because the food is good. Also conveniently located next to the Stowe Cinema.

The food was good, but nothing special. The service was pleasant. They do not take credit cards, so be prepared to pay cash

These were the way pancakes should be served & eaten. Three thick cakes, with options for additions ie: chocolate chips, apples, bananas, etc. You could also opt for whipped cream, which I did. The chocolate chips were nicely melted into the pancake upon arrival table side, and without haste the whipped cream melted into the stack. Additionally, the whipped cream... More

Food, service, setting, portions, all are awesome. We went to Stowe and tried this place for breakfast the first morning. We ended up eating there the other 2 times as well! Everything is awesome, homefries and corned beef hash are the bomb. Try the smoked corned beef hash if they have it. Its a special sometimes and sells out quick.... More

You will definitely hear the waitresses greeting many of the customers here by name, you'll overhear the latest weather predictions, and you'll get a good, fast, filling breakfast for a fair price (which can be hard to do in Stowe!). Their corn beef hash is salty, meaty and served hot with that yummy flattop crust... they know how to make... More
