My wife and I wanted to be sure we knew right where this place was so we went up the afternoon before. And we are glad we did. We are camera maniacs and the afternoon light was perfect for pictures of the front of the Lodge. The next morning when we came up from Stowe for breakfast the morning light... More

The authentic Austrian food is superbly prepared and served with perfection. This is top-dining at its best.

Food was great. cucumber/garlic soup superb, lobster unusual recipe and excellent. Desert some sort of sundae as nice a sundae as we have had. Wine list not deep but plenty to choose from and very reasonable. All in all exceeded expectations with warm reception, attentive server. Server didn't seem to know about refilling wine glasses from the bottle at the... More

Each visit to Stowe is not complete with having lunch at the Von Trapp Lodge. Although, it is usually in their "casual dining" area. However, this time we ate in the "formal" dining area. We were sat by glass doors so the outside view of the mountains was very enjoyable. Our waiter was quiet, but was helpful. We had our... More

Bad experience all around. 1. Tried to make reservation for 7:00PM for Tues 9/23. Was told only 6:45PM and 7:15PM were available. Reserved 7:15PM. Upon arrival, the dining room was 3/4 empty. What gives? 2. Got our wine after about 20 minutes. 3. No bread. That came after 35 minutes. 4. Then ordered soup of the day and entree. Told... More

We had the most fabulous veal meal here. Veal was so soft and moist and yummy. It came with their home made noodles and lovely seasoned kale. Our waiter, who was from France, was most gracious and the formal dining room is lovely and cozy. We can hardly wait to return.

My wife and I had had a date night up at the lodge for dinner because were staying at one of their guest houses. The food was very good. I had steak and my wife had the duck. The food was well cooked with excellent flavor for the both of us. The portions were acceptable but keep in mind I'm... More

We ate on the patio overlooking the spectacular view. The setting is wonderful. Lunch was quite good...we had simple fare...burgers and pastrami sandwiches, fries, beer and wine. All were tasty (the burger overcooked), but not bad nonetheless. They have some delicious brews...Vienna lager for me...a crisp, cold, slightly hoppy, refreshing beer. Service is friendly and attentive. The Lodge itself isn't... More

If you like Salmon, this is the best I have ever tasted even in Alaska. Each meal we ordered was very delicious. Pricey, but our meals were included in our trip, so not sure what ours actually cost. The actual menu was in the price range of $20-$30.
