Candle lit gourmet experience

Liked the touches of old world elegance, such as the formal maitre d, the candle lights, and a gourmet experience with elegant dishes. The waiting staff could be a little more attentive, however.

Love the food and getting there early to watch the sunlight fad on the hill across the valley. It was a great pleasure to have Chris on the piano in the lounge. The entire staff is always outgoing and friendly.

We love both the restaurant ( a little more formal - mountain formal that is) and more casual bar. Awesome burgers and brats in the bar with Trapp made beers and roaring fireplace to keep you warm on a cold winters night. Great service, piano on weekends. The dining room has great food and service and our favorite wiener schnitzel... More

The food was okay, the menu was rather uninspired. We had last visited four years ago and the menu was better then. The wiener schnitzel was okay, I've had better. Rather disappointing considering the prices. However, we love the Sound of Music and my daughter would have been disappointed if we didn't visit. However, if we're back in Stowe, don't... More

VIEWS were AMAZING. Food was average. We did the breakfast buffet. It was okay. I can not say enough about the views that was worth it all! We came just for breakfast and to see the lodge on a girls trip as two of us are huge Sound of Music Fans!!!!

We weren't staying on the property but heard about their Easter brunch and decided to try it out. We were not disappointed even at $59pp. There were carving stations with ham and lamp, potato and onion soup, short ribs eggs benedict, omelet station, fish, a dessert station and much more. Everything was absolutely delicious, service was very attentive and the... More

Food is great. Family raised eggs and beef. Interesting menu with imported, authentic Austrian wines and beer.

Food is decent German fair but overpriced. The diggs are upscale mid 1990s nursing home as are the clientele. Wheel me back to my room please and put on the Late Show. A doe a deer a female deer. Was waiting for Julie Andrews to appear but she didn't.

Its hard to believe that any breakfast whim is not catered to in this excellent buffet. Traditional eggs, french toast, pancake, bacon and sausage lovers will be well served. An incredible array of fresh cut fruits, muesli, oatmeal, grains and yogurts are available for those seeking a healthier start to a day of activity. The service is very good, respectful... More
