I opted to try a lavender mocha as opposed to a lavender latte, and they were happy to experiment. This is a funky little coffee shop in Downtown Stowe, and worth the stop!

I had a latte my husband the house coffee and I have to say it was not very hot or top notch. The price is fine the atmosphere is like most is smaller towns - kids working behind the counter, the entire places could use a really good cleaning, more comfortable chairs, better music selection overhead. In a pinch go... More

The coffee is good, but the staff totally disorganised and slow : looked like they'd only started that morning and didn't know what they were doing, so there was a big line of orders on the counter and the girl was doing them one at a time - painful to watch

Stopped here for coffee whilst riding a bike. The coffee they made us was very good. We have decaf but the finished drink still tasted like a proper coffee. We sat outside to watchthe world go by. Nice place for a decent coffee

I agree with many of the previous posters. The location is good, the product is pretty good, the service and attitude of the person taking my order was horrible. The woman who waited on us on Saturday morning. October 25th, was about as rude as you can get. I almost just walked out. I felt like a piece of dirt... More

I reviewed Black Cap over a year ago, and though I don't usually bother with an update, I found that the place has steadily deteriorated. It is such a missed opportunity for Black Cap's owners. One of Vermont's premier attractions, Stowe needs a great coffee shop, but this place needs a lot of attention. The baristas do not understand how... More

We were in Stowe to see the sights and wanted to sit for a coffee. Black Cap filled the bill for us. My husband's Americano was based on a smooth and tasty shot. I inquired about the granola -- homemade there, very fresh, with nuts -- which comes with natural yogurt. The serving was generous and hearty. I also had... More

Went their for a light breakfast and coffee our second day of a two day visit to Stowe. The croissants were very fresh and the coffees made as we requested just right for us. Weak latte . We were able to make use of. Their available free wifi that we found easy to use and efficient.

Great selection of baked-goods, cards, and nice gift items (and not too cheesy) in a nice, big room with cozy seating and free wifi. I'm only giving 3-stars as the coffee was just so-so, but better than Starbucks, which isn't all that difficult, but says something as to the quality.
