A charming, eclectic place in downtown Springfield. Our waitress was delightful. The food was innovative and delicious. You won't be disappointed.

Unfamiliar with Springfield, VT we came across 56 Main Street and decided to stop for lunch. We were pleased with the menu- nice mix of standards - burgers, wraps, salads etc. The service was prompt and pleasant and the food was terrific. We had burgers and wraps which were perfectly prepared and served. We'd definitely stop again.

We like to stop in Springfield on our way to Maine because the Holiday Inn there welcomes our dog. Last year we tried 56 Main Street for dinner and again this year. Not disappointed. Their menu is varied, and they offer interesting specials. The salads and veggie side taste like they were lulled from the garden to your plate. Very... More

This restaurant is what you hope to find in a small town: good food, pleasant atmosphere, decent service. It is all the of these. We went for an early dinner and had a nice relaxing meal. The menu has plenty of choices so if you were staying nearby, it would not be surprising to eat here more than once. The... More

A number of business associates met for lunch on a very nice summer Friday, and found an almost full restaurant of local groups, ranging from a very obvious birthday celebration to a gathering of mature women (as I'm in the same age bracket, we won't use any other descriptive). This is a monthly event for my associates, and 56 Main... More

This place had been recommended to us by a couple of friends so we went here for lunch the day we arrived in Vermont. It's a nice place, very clean and the food was good. We had to wait awhile for our food though. The restaurant wasn't busy, a few people had come in after we did. We noticed that... More

The food is excellent, the wait staff is very attentive without being intrusive, and the decor is very eclectic. Very fitting for such a cute town!

Plenty of free parking on the 3rd of July. We were a little pessimistic about parking and parked up the street--the walk through a little bit of Springfield was beautiful and fun. In reality, street parking was available right in front of the restaurant! Definitely a family restaurant. Kids menus are available on request. Recommend bringing crayons/etc. Food: -Broccoli cheddar... More

I would classify 56 Main as an upscale restaurant with a family atmosphere. The menu is well appointed and the food is excellent. Although some might consider the meals a bit pricey, I felt that the cost coincided with the quality of the food. We will definitely make a return visit.

We live locally so we are in 56 Main Street several tines each year. One of the reasons we keep coming back is that each time we eat one of the menu staples, there often is a subtle change in the flavor and presentation. And it seems like they step it up. I had enchiladas and my wife had a... More
