We are Vermont's premier Japanese restaurant, serving our guests for 11 years, since 1999. Come enjoy our Japanese ambiance with a pond full of koi fish and running water --always a hit with kids. We have plenty of free parking and a full bar stocked with fine wines, beers, and a variety of liquor. We look forward to serving you and your family in the near future. We have four options of dining in our establishment. Hibachi, dining room, tatami and sushi bar. Please specify the type of dining experience you'd prefer under special notes. Decent food but the show was weak

Been to Koto a few times before so we have experienced the show. We had 2 for 1 restaurant card so we went big time with the seafood hibachi. That's lobster, shrimp and scallops for $32. You get miso soup; its decent. Then a salad, that was decent too. You then are supposed to get a show when the... read more

Greeted by an extremely rude hostess. Unfortunately for the restaurant, she was the first point of contact and a very poor first impression of the place. Other than that, the place is quite pleasant. The ambiance is tranquil with a koi pond and the gentle trickling sound of water. Spacious seating with the option of seclusion or at their highly... More

While I was not paying for my meal at Koto, I noticed that the $20-30 price tag attached to anything of substance did not quite match the quality of my steak dinner or the service of the waitress. In particular: the waitress seemed somewhat flustered, the meat chunks had lots of fat in them and were not entirely separated from... More

We always go for lunch...the "lunch box" lunch is awesome...delicious and so reasonable...They give you small samples of lots of things...nori rolls, tempura veggies, along with chicken, beef or salmon...and each comes with soup and a salad with their special dressing. YUM! Excellent price! Enjoy!

Stopped in for sushi dinner. Service was pretty good. The place was pretty empty so I can't say how service would be with a full house but it seemed like there were quite a few servers waiting for work. We had the sushi, not the hibachi. The fish tasted fresh and was prepared nicely. We ordered a few different types... More

Tried a few rolls, some variations on tempura, sake, and scorpio bowls. Everything was pretty good. Tons of people and kids running around everywhere but nice to sit at the bar where there were few people and just relax.

We've eaten here dozens of times - the menu has many great options - we like the hibachi (ask for the outer room as the inner room tends to get the inferior chefs (they vary widely - some are GREAT, some mediocre) and the atmosphere isn't as nice) but also eat at the bar and the restaurant. Their best dishes... More

Food was average but the hibachi dinner was fun. Packed because it was 1 of 2 places open in Burlington Christmas eve, and overpriced. But the real fun was in dining with family Christmas eve.

I wish I could give negative stars to the restaurant in Burlington,Vt. Ugh, I had been to one previous and raved about it to my family. So for our Christmas dinner this year we decided to try the burlington location. What a mistake that was.............. For almost ten adults there was maybe three cups of terrible rice. Meals were all... More

I have always loved Koto, their lunch prices are certainly better than that of dinner and the portions are still enough to satisfy. The bento box is always a great choice, but the scallops will change your life! If you have time sit at the hibachi grill, you will not be disappointed.
