A special place

The view of Lake Champlain can't be beat. You are in a former grand home (well--for them it was probably more of a cottage). Much of the food is grown on site, it is very well prepared. It is a little pricey. Locals often come for a fancy breakfast to enjoy the setting with less expense. But... read more

Yum! Yum! Yum! Seared duck breast, cooked to perfection, served atop a pool of creamy polenta. A small menu showcasing all locally sourced foods (perfectly executed), intimate atmosphere and breathtaking views, outstanding service....what's not to love??? I tried to find one aspect of the meal that could be improved up, but I was delightfully unable. If you are in need... More

Historic location, magnificent views, gorgeous gardens and delicious breakfast! This is our "go to" place for an elegant and relaxing (and affordable) breakfast/brunch in a manor house that offers a taste of the past....(Also serving dinner...but pricier). Nestled on the shores of Lake Champlain, the water view across the gardens to the Adirondacks can not be beat! The Inn at... More

The restaurant is quite nice. It is fairly small and menu does not offer a lot of choices as they rely on what is available on the farm. Having said that, we were more than pleased. My husband, who is quite frugal, said it was the best $35 dollar prix fixed menu he had ever had, which is a miracle... More

Destination location. Small intimate restaurant with locally grown ingredients on the menu, Fantastic views of the entire estate and Lake Champlain. Opportunities to view the Inn and see beautiful rooms decorated with vintage furnishings, tour the grounds and see how this family lived and worked the farms and preserved it for the future generations to enjoy. Special tour offered of... More

Dinner was delicious, breakfast lightly attended. I liked the white glove service and dressing up for dinner. Lots of choices, and you can relax after dinner in one of the various fireplaced rooms-games, piano, books and nooks to curl up,

Shelburne is worth a visit for two or three days. But if not possible, make a reservation and have a delicious meal, with fresh ingredients, in perfect portions, delivered by a knowledgeable and professional staff. Service is excellent. On the Sunday there is a prix-fix menu, providing options for all palates. The wine list is very comprehensive, yet the house... More

This restaurant set in the dining room of the Shelburne Farms estate, now run by a non-profit organization, is one of best restaurants I've visited in the US. The food is fresh and much of it is fresh from the estate where livestock, cheeses and produce are grown. The waitstaff is knowledgable and experienced. They know how to be attentive... More

This is a wonderful experience for a bargain...great local/fresh foods breakfast in a Vanderbilt vacation home setting. You have to make reservations, but once in for breakfast, you are free to stay and enjoy the library, lakefront, gardens, and wondrous farm barn morning events. Chicken parade, cow milking, etc, too fun.

We visit the Inn to eat breakfast on a Sunday morning. We ate on the outdoor patio with a view of Lake Champlain. There were a variety of items on the menu, in line with the farm-to-table theme for Shelburne Farms. The food was good, but a little pricey in my opinion. Better than the breakfast were the grounds outside... More
