We visit the Inn to eat breakfast on a Sunday morning. We ate on the outdoor patio with a view of Lake Champlain. There were a variety of items on the menu, in line with the farm-to-table theme for Shelburne Farms. The food was good, but a little pricey in my opinion. Better than the breakfast were the grounds outside... More

On my first day on my first ever visit to Burlington, my cousin took me to The Inn at Shelburne Farm- what a lovely drive up to the Inn-sprawling green fields and so green and beautiful. We had a reservation for 8 so we had a drink out in the gardens first, we walked down to where the peonies were... More

Whenever I visit my friend in Shelburne, we try to include a breakfast at this wonderful inn and, weather permitting, sit on the terrace overlooking Lake Champlain. I never tire of eating here and the great menu makes the perfect start to any day.

By all means you should eat here (from what others say, breakfast sounds like a great bet) for the ambience and to see the property, lake view and surroundings. We celebrated our anniversary here and weren't sorry to have done so. Our server was helpful and nice. It was really the food that was mediocre at best with some bright... More

My friend and I took a 93 year old friend for a treat dinner. We are all of us sophisticated eaters and found the food to be mediocre to worse. My two friends who have lived in Italy ordered the Spaghetti carbonara; our elderly friend sent it back to the kitchen, asking for scrambled eggs. My braised veal shoulder was... More

This was a high school graduation family dinner on a Friday morning. I had Eggs Benedict along with several others. Others had a farm fresh omelet, a lemon pancake with pureed raspberry sauce, and a farm house breakfast The pancake item had the highest votes. Most of the ingredients come from the Farm Market. Generous glass of juice with many... More

This is a very pleasant place for a Sunday brunch. Housed in a Vanderbilt summer "cottage" the ding room overlooks Lake Champlain. The beautiful mile, or so, drive from the gate and the lovely view from the dining room are the reasons for dining here, and it is worth it. The food is good, but you won't come away thinking... Superb buildings, massive charm and glorious gardens, as a setting for an interesting and varied dinner focused on local food. The waitress was knowledgable and informative, the lounge areas were filled with warming fires, a pianist played classical music with style. The only down-side was the bar which struggled with the volume on what is presumably the busiest night of... More

Ok to go to once a year but not a monthly or a weekly event. Food is adequate if you want to enjoy it in you great, great, grandmothers creaky attic, or like you're visiting a friends great great g-mothers place and feel obliged to not notice or say how nice a place it is ( even though it's passed... Had a business breakfast for four here and sat outside on an amazing VT morning. Food was terrific and fresh, service friendly and attentive, view from the patio of Lake Champlain and Adirondacks across the lake in NY breathtaking. Can't wait to go back this summer - a fEW times!
