After a long day, it is so relaxing to sit and enjoy a glass of wine with a salad and fresh bread that you can dip in olive oil with garlic, and maybe have a bowl of soup, on either the front porch, the back porch, or the bar or the dining room. The atmosphere is calm and friendly. I... More

Large victorian/historical inn within a beautiful small town Vermont location. The dining room is clean, neat, the menu offers a nightly theme/special, with something for everyone. Small bar area is relaxing with large screen TV for sports watching. Would definitely return.

Met a friend who suggested we go to the Inn for dinner. She had been there before, and I had not. When I got there she already had an appetizer in front of her. Looked like half of a baguette with artichoke hearts, cheese and sardines on top of it. The whole thing fell apart as she ate it and... More

went for special occasion - birthday and was a little disappointed but rather pleased at the same time. odd, but OK. Dinners don't stand out as impressive by any means but fine and the price is what I'd expect. No big hurry to ever go back there, so didn't make that much of an impression.

We stopped here on our way back from a day of touring around Woodstock. Found the bar tender super friendly and the pub full of charming locals willing to strike up a conversation. Only intended to have a drink and some local cheese but we decided to take a peek at the menu and liked what we saw. Had a... More

Fine food prepared in a homestyle manner. We especiallynenjoyed the chevre fritter over balsamic dressed greens.

My wife & I celebrated our 2oth anniversary with dinner at the Inn. The service was just second to none, and the dinner was absolutely wonderful. The decor is so warm and inviting that one wants to linger long after the meal is finished. The menu prices are not exorbitant for the quality and size of the portions served.

I last ate at the SRI decades ago when the present owner was the owner with her father. Over the years it had changed hands a few times and now is back in the hands of Averill ( ? spelling) and her husband. This is a very good thing for the town . When I called to make the reservation... More
