perfect for a special night

We knew Thursday evening is wing and draft beer specials so called ahead for a reservation and we were very glad we did. Yes, we got there early and therefore had to what about 10 minutes until our table was ready... Others had a 45 minute to an hour wait for a table. And yes, the area in the... read more

I treated a departing colleague to lunch and he chose One Federal - which was a treat for me, as they are always good. I had the amazing Vermonter Burger (cheddar, bacon, apple, etc) and massive onion rings. Brilliantly cooked and delicious. We got great service and enjoyed the fireside atmosphere as we wrapped up our time together. Great lunch.

Friends of ours suggested this restaurant and so, despite mixed reviews, we decided to give it a try. We were promptly seated in a street view booth with menus in hand and after a few minutes our waiter passed by to introduce himself and inform us of the daily specials. We took our time ordering and our waiter passed by... More

If this restaurant is considered the best in the area then there's room for competition. Been here several times as have been even less impressed by the other slim pickings when passing through and needing a bite. First thing that hits is the musty old odor in the various rooms In a place where the ambience is difficult to describe,... More

This is a nice location, and I can't complain about the service, but I found my alfredo pasta very heavy, and the chicken of poor quality. I also only got a couple of pieces of broccoli - as if it were hard to find.

Saint Albans Vermont is a relatively small town with an immediate surrounding area of 15,000. I recently visited family there and our small group went out to eat Saturday night at a restaurant named One Federal Restaurant and Lounge. Located on a side street off the main drag, it appeared to be a fairly new establishment based on the lack... More

I have been to One Fed 5 times over the last month for business or pleasure. I can honestly say that the food has ranged from excellent and well prepared to mediocre at best. Service was very good 4/5 times and I am appreciative of that! I think I will take a break for a while in hopes they get... More

I know what good food is. I haven't eaten I. all the restaurants in St Albans but One Federal has got the best food that I enjoyed in St. Albans. Nestled near the center if town, I tasted their fare on three separate occasions over the past 2 1/2 weeks. Almost everything is hand-made. The first night was the ribeye... More

My wife and I stopped for lunch on a Friday. Nice location, friendly MD, waitress was good, We shared an order an order of Frickles, (Fried pickles in batter) very tasty, crispy, little greasy, an occasional treat snack. Service was excellent but dining room was shared by just 4 other couples, we wondered why the place was so empty? We... More

The food is good and the atmosphere is really nice, but I had a hard time finding something that I really liked at a reasonable price. The sandwhich I had was good though and the service was friendly, so if you don't mind paying it's a nice place to go.
