I am sorry to say that my wife and I were disappointed to see Chow Bella was closed as in sold, and we are not sure what will take its place. I believe it will be an upscale microbrew bar and restaurant or will have cocktails and restaurant. We did get to visit another fine establishment in Saint Albans named... More

RIght in the center of downtown St Albans, lovely space, high ceilings. Friendly, attentive staff. Interesting menu, with entrees that are well-prepared and presented. Very generous portions-be warned, the garden salad is fresh and more than large enough for two. Killer carrot cake. And a live classical guitarist.

Calamari appetizer, dry-rubbed ribs, chicken Caesar salad were all well-prepared and presented; service was excellent, and it was nice to have one of the owners visiting tables to ensure guest satisfaction.

Very Dissapointed! Ordered a flatbread as an appetizer, these were a great deal and pleasure just a short time ago, now regrettable . What is so difficult about recreating such a simple dish ( and profitable too). We're done with what was once an enjoyable, always surprising fun dining experience. Will this be replaced with a Pizza Hut? Please someone,... More

At one time this place was fantastic, with variety and something for every pallet and price range. Now the food is one step up from Pizza Hut. The favorites that the new owner kept on the menu should know he's not doing us any favors. They are not even a mere glimmer of what they once were. The flatbread is... More

Had a twoferone at Chow Bella so how could we not go? Our dining experience was much better than our trip a few weeks ago. The martini's were perfect and down from $8.95 to $8.50. Still high for St Albans. My wife had the rack of lamb at $27.00; it was fantastic; perfectly done at our requested medium-rare. There were... More

OK this is what happen...I went into this place in my hometown tonight...I would say it holds 60 people? It was 6:30 and there was maybe 10 people in the place...I was alone wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt and baseball cap...the host looked at me and said we have nothing available tonight. So I left and went to... More

We have been going to Chow Bella for years. It has been under new ownership and the menu has changed. On our recent visit, we had the calamari appetizer; it was very nicely done. I had the ribeye steak; it was done medium rare, just the way I wanted it. My wife had the primavera; it was ok but a... More

I have been here a few times. The bar has trivia nights on Mondays, which is not well-attended but still amusing to go to. The restaurant itself is never very full, even on weekend evenings. The quality/price ratio is a little off; I've had much better Italian. The ambiance is nice and the service is typically good. They have different... More

Ate dinner here while staying on the Lake Champlain islands (Alberg). With tip, no alcohol, the tab was $55. Good food, contemporary setting, good service. Located in downtown Alberg.
