Lots of choices for vegetarians. Love that they use fresh, local ingredients. Very creative and imaginative dishes.

We visited Roots based on trip advisor reviews and we are so glad we did. Even on a Sunday night the dining room was full. We sat at the bar which had a great atmosphere and a style we hadn't seen before. The bar glows blue from lights underneath it. Our server, Melissa, was knowledgeable and helpful.
We had the...

We saw Roots written up and enjoyed on Trip Advisor by prior guests so we decided to go for lunch while we were shopping in Rutland. The decor was warm and inviting. The menu was exciting. The food was plentiful, well prepared and unusually tasty. The service by Jennifer was excellent. We all agreed we would come again, perhaps for...

My wife and I were passing through Rutland around lunch time. We had planned on stopping at Panera, but I checked TripAdvisor and saw that this place was well rated. So we gave it a shot. We were quite impressed! My wife had the squash and carrot soup and I had the black bean cake sandwich. Both were quite delicious,...

Have eaten here a handful of times. The first time my husband and I went we were not overly impressed. We had a barbecue pulled pork sandwich that was "ok". The blueberry bbq sauce was tasty but the roll that it was on was sub par. We also had an appetizer that no longer is on the menu but it...

Roots is a very charming, small restaurant but they accommodated my party of 12 with a reservation and great service. Everyone's food was terrific and the choices were interesting and varied. It's rated as Rutland's best and deservedly so.
Loved every single thing about my meal and my martini was absolutely divine. I had the salmon special and it was wonderful!
We went snowboarding at Okemo and stayed in Rutland. Found Roots via the internet and decided to try it. It's a small restaurant, so if you plan on going, I
suggest reservations. We were there on a Thursday night and it was fairly busy at 8:30. Tired the calamari, the crabcake, and the sweet potato salmon. The calamari could have...

Everything is fresh especially the vegetables. There is not much quality restaurants in Rutland or Killington, but this is an exception. Service is ok, but not the greatest. It has a cool, hip ambiance but I see a lot of older clientele and families.
Amazing fresh food, nice atmosphere, and friendly staff, highly recommend. Organically grown food, and nice local beer on tap.
