One Young Lady Knows about Customer Service and Marketing!

I arrived at 5:45pm and parked right in front - metered parking. I asked what time the meters stopped working - 6pm. She said I would be fine, but I didn't feel comfortable with that eventhough my table would overlook my car. She offered and gave me a quarter to put in the parking meter - for... read more

Was with a large group, but just wanted a snack, no dinner. I have had the cheese board before so ordered it again, but was disappointed this time.

Not "bad" in any way, but not really particularly good, either. Black bean appetizer was excellent, but (sadly) that was kind of the high point. Curry mahi mahi was substituted with swordfish (they did advise us), but the curry couldn't stand up to the heavier fish. Salmon was . . . ok. So was calamari . . .not bad, but... More

LOCAL, fresh and a real chef in the kitchen. Great flavors and choices without the pretense. I had Panang Curry Swordfish. It was cooked perfectly. Rutland is fortunate to have this joint in town!

I have wanted to dine at this establishment for several years and it just never was convenient. Although I live in Vermont and accept the fact that we have to drive everywhere, just to get in the car and drive for an hour, round trip, is not something I casually do. So we had to have a reason. Family visiting... More

I went here with a friend for a nice dinner on a Sunday evening and was not disappointed. I ordered the steak and garlic mashed potatoes-and oh my it was all divine!! We ordered dessert to go because we ate everything on our plates. Wonderful service, will go again! Make sure you make reservations!

We have spent the last 11yrs visiting this area. Roots is so special; They always offer new and exciting creations. The menu is mainly gluten free & vegetarian; that said my parents and husband enjoy all offerings and have meat or fish added. I have found them to be very accomandating to all ages; Today the people next to us... More

The restaurant has a lovely interior with a sophisticated color scheme (blue and reddish-brown walls, exposed brick, bar with glowing lights embedded) and vegetable-themed artwork on the walls. The dining room is relatively small and intimate. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. The menu was full of intriguing and healthy options for every diet, with the sources (mostly local) of... The food and service were excellent, and the atmosphere was quaint. Outdoor seating was an option. The server told us of the local farms being used for the specials, which were a cheese theme. My pan seared sea scallops were cooked perfectly, served over a risotto and side of fresh beets. Delicious!
