Part of my Vermont vacation experience

Great coffee with local feel! There are several rooms with lots of vintage books! In the main part, great coffees and desserts to nibble on. Very relaxing and trendy spot. You'll find several young folks drinking wine and relaxing on the patio!

We bought some pastry there for our road trip. Nice selection. But what we really found great and quaint was the bookstore. Fun to just rummage around, seats for reading. Enjoyed the browsing.

We stopped into Sandy's during a recent visit and had a wonderful time perusing the bookshelves. The bakery/bookstore has a sweet, welcoming feel and all the food in the bakery looked amazing. We didn't have time for a snack but we could have spent hours eating and reading in the comfy chairs and funky sitting areas. A must-visit in Rochester!

I love to check out bakeries as they are none where I live so was quite surprised to find a lovely bookstore of new and used books as well when I stopped while traveling through the town. The bakery treats were were good enough to make us stop in again a few days later. This time we enjoyed a lovely... More

Be on the lookout as you drive through town and be sure to stop for a meal at Sandy's. Ok, I have to say it feels a lot like the 60's walking in and walking around the restaurant/bookstore and that's part of the charm. The food is excellent - explore the menu. Soups, stews, quiches, sandwiches, homemade bread, cookies, muffins... More

We were visiting Rochester to visit my grandparents and great-grandparents family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery. We stopped in at Sandy's because the Rochester General Store was closed the week we visited (Veterans Day weekend - slow season). We saw Sandy's was open and decided to try it. The place is very casual and the staff very friendly. We ordered one... More

Everytime we're passing through Rochester I make sure to stop at Sandy's, whether to pick up a loaf of her awesome bread, chewy (delicious!) bagels, a dark roast coffee or sandwiches. The breakfast sandwich and BLT are so good, served on a butter biscuit and home-made bread. Great ambiance, lots of books to peruse and lots of treats to take... More

Luckily, our road trip took us through Rochester. We were going to make a quick stop, but walked from place to place and ended up at Sandy's Books & Bakery. We were going to just get a drink until we saw the wonderful menu. We ordered and ate outside on the porch, taking in the gorgeous view. Stop in Rochester!

Sweet little house converted to a bookstore, full of nooks and crannies stuffed with books. Also there is a wonderful cafe in the back and the whole place was full all Saturday morning when we were there. I had the most awesome bagel with lox! Great coffee too. Can't go wrong there!!!

This was an unexpected gem we found while enjoying a farm vacation! Tucked in the tiny town is this really cool bookstore café. The shop is in an old home, where each room houses a different theme of books and crafts and gifts. The food in the café is fresh and fantastic. They offer an interesting menu of sandwiches and...
