Our family likes to eat here when we're in Newport because of the menu selection and because we choose to eat on the deck at the edge of Lake Memphremagog. I remember the steamed mussels a couple years ago as a great appetizer. We like the poutine. And we usually have portions left over for dinner.

We vacation in the Northeast Kingdom every August, and always have dinner at Eastside, on the edge of and overlooking Lake Memphremagog -- beautiful any time but particularly at sunset. They have a wide menu but we like them particularly for steak and prime rib. Good salad bar, friendly wait staff, generally short wait for tables even on busy nights.... More

My boyfriend and I made reservations the day of for the deck in the hopes the rain would hold out for us, upon arrival we asked to be moved inside - this was no problem. We sat in the pub and although we weren't greeted right away, John stepped right in and took great care of us. We were pleasantly... More

We went on a mid-week late lunch. We were seated immediately and served by a very friendly waitress. We split an order of poutine for an appetizer. It was, as poutine should be, creamy, crispy, warm and tasty... maybe a shake or two less of the salt. We ate a variety of sandwiches and salads, all of which were very... More

Let me start by saying that I usually only do reviews if I have something positive to say. We were down from Ottawa visiting my sister in Newport and planned to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday at the Eastside. She chose this restaurant for the ambience and location and in the past we had good experiences here. My wife and... More

I had the seafood chowder and seared tuna salad. They were both good. Sat outside at a high top and the weather and the view were great! The bartender was my waitress and she was very pleasant and helpful!

Took my visitors to lunch for the view. It is an ok place, but don't expect much. A couple of us had lobster rolls, which would have been so much better with about half as much mayonnaise. Serving sizes are large, unnecessarily, and have too much sauce. Our waitress basically ignored us. We had hoped to have a couple of drinks before lunch,but... More

The location is really great. The food is excellent and priced well. The place has never let us down and we've been coming here for years!

There aren't too many places in the small downtown area to chose from. We had a couple drinks on the deck which has a nice view of the lake and shared a couple of appetizers that we didn't really care for much. The service was good but decided to try another spot to eat at after seeing some of the... More

We were there on a Sunday and some of our party got the buffet. To be honest, it didn't look good and there were few vegetables. I had a haddock dish that was good. It would have been outstanding with a little less sauce and cooking time. The wait staff was considerate and held the dessert section of the buffet... More
