Good food and friendly service combined with unobstructed lake view that wows the senses

Four of us tried this place because of the lakefront location and were very impressed by the extensive menu and the upbeat service. The place is HUGE, but the service was friendly and professional. Each of us ordered something different and all reported complete satisfaction with the meals we... read more

We (myself, wife and daughter) have been going to Eastside almost monthly for the past year. On most occasions we enjoyed a nice lunch, picking from a varied menu. The last time we went there for lunch was Saturday, August 22, 2015. I took the smoked turkey, open sandwich with asparagus on a sour dough bread with cheese. When I... More

This is the third visit to this restaurant and no disappointment either! We visited the Eastside with two other couples for lunch and its a popular place that is right on the water of Lake Memphramagog. They have a very nice salad bar with soups, bread and other items. Most of us got the salad bar which made for a... More

It happened to be my birthday week, and I have had the enormous pleasure of enjoying three superb cocktails and dinners recently at the Eastside Restaurant and Pub in Newport, VT. In my 50 plus years as a University Professor and professional writer I have lived in Paris, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Mexico City, London, and many American cities. My 22... More

Nice view but no air conditioning. Went here with a newborn on an 85 degree sunny day and we had a hard time eating our expensive food because of the heat. The place was swarming with flies. The staff seemed very tense running from once place to the next. Tried to order the lobster roll but they were all out.... More

Casual dress, but upscale food well prepared and worth the prices. Attentive service and pleasant location at the waters edge. You a can even arrive by boat and tie up at their dock.

Stopped for drinks in the middle of a beautiful Sunday afternoon. When I asked about the choices for ciders, the waiter told me they had Woodchuck. Of course, I asked which Woodchuck, since they offer at least a dozen varieties some of which I like, some I don't. The waiter informed me the kind made from apples in Vermont and... More

Food is sort of average. The views are fabulous. Consistently a good meal ( average) this is not gourmet, but there is an excellently diverse wide menu. Summer on the deck or at the outdoor bar is a treat. Plus you can get the watch the goings and comings of the diners who arrive by boat and dock at their... More

Stopped in for lunch after biking the lakeside trail. Both deck and inside seating were available. We enjoyed the wide-ranging menu and the freedom to take our time making a decision. Both choices were very good. Scenery and service were pleasant. We recommend it.
