Nothing ever changes

I've been eating at the Eastside for the last 3 years, at least several times a year. They have some tasty dishes like the Steak Salad and Seafood Bisque. However, the menu is always the same. The salad bar is always the same. And the customers are geriatric, so it's like an upscale Denny's... read more

I love salad bar so when this came with most dishes I was very happy. But this salad bar had more than the average selections and very good. The staff did nothing but hustle and answered all requests. We sat on the deck during sunset and it was beautiful. This has to be one of the nicest view points on... More

Lovely location by the lake in Newport. Relaxing place to have dinner at the end of the day. Menu has a good mix of options from full meals to pub fare to salads. Full salad bar is offered with any dinner ordered and can be added on to pub menu selections. I would go back but would skip the fish... More

We moved to Newport last year and for the first time wanted to enjoy a Sunday Morning Buffet so we went to the Eastside Restaurant. While the location is nice, even in the winter, this place is dated and looks 'tired'. The food at the buffet reflects the ambiance, unexciting selection of warm food, which tastes as if it was... I've lived around here for 3 years and the Eastside used to be one of my favorite places to go. Keywords: used to. I stopped by for alittle of the Seafood Bisque and ended up ordering a bowl, which is a meal in itself. It was lukewarm, the scallops were over cooked and rubbery, the lobster was super dry. It... We live in this area and I avoid this restaurant whenever possible. Each time has been a disappointment (it was for a family event so no choice). One time we waited over 2 hours waiting for the waitress to take our orders then another hour to get our food! (the was practically no one else in the restaurant either...don't understand)... More

Our previous experience with Newport has been minimal. Just a stop for a gas fill up on our way to Quebec. On a recommendation from someone in Jeffersonville (on vacation at Smugglers Notch)we took the drive up. Very glad we did. I had the shrimp risotto which was delicious and perfect. My husband had the ground pork burger which he... More

A rest stop on our way home and just lucked onto this cute spot for supper. We all enjoyed the wide, healthy and delicious salad bar selection. Everything was market fresh with no artifical flavors. I will definately return on my way to or from the USA via Stanstead border again. More to explore in Newport also....!
