We'd planned to visit here since we're currently in Montpelier. I was so excited after I read all the great reviews, so I found their Facebook page, only to see that they have closed here and are taking their business to NYC! Here's what was posted back in May: "For those who haven't heard the news, we will be closing... More

I had the Chicken Enchilada soup and my husband had the Chipotle Pork soup. They were both packed with locally-grown, organic veggies and lean meat. Be prepared to wait, even if you call ahead. You can't rush good soup, and it's worth the wait. Equally good are the teas served. Yum!

The owner/chef makes soups with depth, and soul, impeccably done with carefully chosen and many local ingredients. Pricey by Montpelier standards, but very large servings and a fair value. Salads are big and beautiful, with signature shaved manchego cheese and a particularly delicious and unusual dressing. Yummy grilled sandwiches too. Sounds like casual fare, but done elegantly in a small... More

A tiny, attractive eatery that serves fabulous soup, wonderful salads, and offers a small but good choice of wines and beer. A bit pricey for soup and salad and limitations and prohibitions on sharing large

In a time when restaurants feel compelled to widen their range of offerings for fear of leaving out a particular diner's preferences, this place serves determined soup, wonderful, excellent, savory soups on a changing menu. But just a few to pick from. Two kinds of local bread to choose from. Bountiful, beautiful salads with excellent shavings of parmiggiano. One choice... More

This is a soup restaurant. I was taken there while on a business trip. The soup I had was expensive, but one of the best bowls of soup I've ever had. A very small and cramped dining room, and not an ideal venue for a business lunch. But if you love soup, don't miss this place if you're travelling through... More

This is one of those places where you say to yourself "at least it was good". Very robust flavors in the soups, and very tasty sandwiches. I had the black bean and Italian sausage soup and turkey sandwich. I did have leftover soup, but this lunch with tip cost me $20. Atmosphere is cozy as there are few tables and... More

This is the best restaurant in Montpelier if you love soup. A little on the expensive side and the hours of operation are erratic but this is a must if in the area.

My wife and I spent a few days in Montreal last week, in part, to enjoy the wonderful restaurants that this great city has to offer. On our way back to New Hampshire, we stopped by Montpelier to have lunch and discovered this amazing little soup and sandwich restaurant. The restaurant was packed and the wait was unusually long. Yet,... More
