Not worth the money, food quality has dwindled.

The food isn't hearty or made with 'love' like it used to be. Stuff shows up at the table already cold. It's a disappointment for people who have enjoyed being loyal for so many years.

We stopped in for what we hoped to be a nice lunch. After seating ourselves according to instructions on the sign at the entrance we were completely ignored by waitstaff. The last straw was seeing them wait on customers who came in after us--so after ten minutes of this we finally got up and left. We were right in front... More

We have eaten at the wayside many times over the years and have never been disappointed . The food is just plain down home good!! Hand cut fries, homemade pies, even have homemade ice team now! We were looking forward to dessert but found after we finished our meal we didn't have room. And this last time we were blessed... More

Fresh food, and speedy service . . . delicious Brunch, and was done in $10.00. This place is nice for a quick Brunch... Only, one weak point is our waitress was so rude.. The place was so crowded...

I met a friend here for breakfast and coffee. He chose the spot. Once again, I left the Wayside wondering why people go there? That don't go for the charm or the good food. Our breakfast was ordinary-- as another reviewer said, it's hard to screw up breakfast. But the room is crowded, dark, tired, and dingy. It's like eating... More

Allow me to let you in on a secret that EVERYONE who lives around here knows: The Wayside is the best dining bargain in (probably) all of Vermont! Fresh food, home cooking, speedy service . . . you can get a delicious and satisfying meal, wash it down with a pint of their signature ale, and be done for about... More

Please don't go. Don't go! Unless you are over 77 and have no taste-buds. Or for Breakfast. It's hard to screw up breakfast...but they'll try. Or, if you like canned spaghetti sauce on limp pasta with frozen meatballs or Sliced turkey on mushy stuffing with yellow bullion "gravy". Don't know how it averages 4* here! Bad

The Wayside Diner was recommended by our hotel, but we wanted something a bit more upscale for dinner so we disregarded the recommendation and set out to find a nice place on our own. By coincidence we passed the Wayside and were struck by the line of people waiting to get in. We decided to give it a try and... More

Best food in Montpillar. Home made rolls. Moxie. McKenzie ham from Vermont. A home town place that has been around since for years and packed all year.
