Vermont diner

Came here has a kid and will always be a place I come back to. Locals and tourists alike, good reasonably priced food and some oddities like river perch. Worth a trip just for the atmosphere and local schmoozing.

Had breakfast since there are not many options in the area. I do like the baked oatmeal but other things are just average.

This is the restaurant to which we bring our favorite out-of-town guests; where we meet to discuss business or politics or school events; where we go to read the paper in a cheery, peaceful atmosphere while enjoying a huge, delicious, inexpensive breakfast. One of our favorite restaurants ever, anywhere.

The quality is up and down over the years....sometimes it has been very tasty, sometimes not. The meals are generally standard America diner fare, lots of gravies and sauces, meats and canned or boiled vegetables. If I lived in an assisted living home, this is what I probably would expect. occasionally, someone adds extra seasonings and a dish stands out.... More

Pleasant, old-fashioned meals. Vegetables are almost always a disappointment but breakfast and burgers are great.

We live in the area so we frequent the Wayside. The best time to visit is...just about anytime!! Beware though you may have to wait in line for this special place but it's well worth the wait. From the delicious hot coffee to their warm homemade rolls to start this place is a winner. The menu is extensive and they... More

If you have not stopped by Wayside Restaurant, you have yet to mingle with all of central Vermont. The food is standard diner--ample, affordable, and totally mixed in clientele. One of a ew local secrets in the area.

We come to The Wayside on a pretty regular basis. It's not fancy, but it's a diner, so that doesn't matter at all. It's about the good food, people! Breakfast is great, with a wide variety of options, all which fill the plate(s)! And real maple syrup, of course! Baked goods are off the charts. All prices are affordable and... More

We drove past the Wayside on our way to the "nightmare hotel" Once we settled in, we decided to go back and find this little Gem! What a delightful surprise! The service was super, the food wonderful and oh that maple cream pie! We enjoyed so much we went back the next night! Sure wish we lived closer, we'd be... More
