the grounds were immaculate, very well tended, yet very inviting and casual and well used by the townsfolk for lounging, playing or conversing - very nice

Great coffee, great atmosphere! Haven't tried the sandwiches, but the pastries and bagels were wonderful. Friendly staff and good service.

Packed with locals! They roast their own and it's quite good (and available for purchase at the Hunger Mountain Coop nearby). The roast is pretty dark; I usually get the cafe au lait to cut it a bit.

We were only in Montpelier for about 45 minutes driving from Button Bay State Park to Portland, Maine. SO GLAD we stopped and got a sandwich for the road from here. Fresh, tasty, and filling. Also, funny that an extra large coffee is called radical size! Looking forward to going back to Montpelier in the future.

After walking around the town for a bit, we are jonesing for a cup of coffee and found this place to be a great resting stop. Wasn't expecting it to be so busy, but it was worth it. Excellent coffee, and the political names for the cup sizes plays right in with the name of the business. The only negative... More

We always stop here for a latte or a cup of good brewed coffee when we're in Montpelier, and we're never disappointed. I can't speak to the food.

The flowers were very beautiful, we wish we could have gone inside. It was the 3rd of July when we arrived and they closed early.

Good coffee, pastries and fresh bagels but do tend to run out of pastries and bagels in the morning so go early. Not the fastest service in the world

I'm local and I have been here many times for lunch & coffee. They use good bread from real bakery and good ingredients and make very good sandwiches. They have good baked goods, from cookies and scones to croissants and quiches. They have their own coffee beans and for brewed coffee there are several choices, such as Columbian, Ethiopian Yirgacheffe,... More

Our hostess took us to Capitol Grounds for latte and a treat. I had pumpkin bread that was very moist and delicious. Husband had chocolate chip cookie, excellent and friend had raspberry and cream cheese croissant and rated that superb. Fun and funky place in downtown Montpelier to visit.
