Fast paced, fresh and spicy

The place is small and ruggedly "decorated". The food prices are a bit high, but the portions are very generous. The sauces and flavors are innovative and fresh. Sorry, I have wanted to be really happy but I am not. Perhaps my tastebuds are too old, too unsophisticated, or too demanding, but everything (three take-out visits) I have eaten is mildly seasoned, at best. The pork is surprisingly dry and bland. There is not enough salt and pepper, not to mention other spices in the beans --black or... More

Overpriced. Overcooked. Less than friendly. Had no beef, and the chicken was fatty. The "chips" under my taco salad were a few burnt tostada shells. While it and the kid's menu taco & burrito were all edible, they fell way short of wonderful.

My wife and I both got the taco salad and a citizen cider. Almost $50! At 5:30pm the cook and cashier etc all the same. Asked for beef, no beef. Asked for fish, no fish. Pork was only meat option. The salad was in general good tasting and quite healthy. The problem was it had corn tortillas on it that... More

Its hard not to fall in love with this place. I came in here one night, right before they were closing, it was dead.. and all of a sudden a mob of hungry patrons rushed the establishment. With one girl behind the counter. She came alive And we all got dinner and a show! She is amazing, with a beautiful... More

We had their fresh soft tacos. You can mix and match your two tacos, but my friend had the Colorado - pork mole - and loved it. I had 1 yam and 1 fish, both with fresh slaw and cilantro, and their yummy spicy verde sauce (squeeze on extra sauces, numbered for hotness), plus one with the super hot

We stopped into Mad Taco after a day of skiing at Mad River Glen, we were looking for some good munchies and definitely found it! Mad Taco is a great combo of fancified stoner food and wholesome goodness!

Good, fresh, local ingredients; well prepared. That said, do you want to pay $10-11 for a burrito because it's locally sourced beef and organic beans? Can you make the same at home for $1.25? Other restaurants you get a full meal in a nice atmosphere for that. I can't tell local beef from foreign beef in a burrito. It's a... More

The food here is really good. There's something about the selection of simple, quality ingredients that come together into a taco bigger than its parts. But I could do without the "dude" greetings. It feels like you're in the kitchen of a dorm room (similar vibe in both Waitsfield and Montpelier) of a friend who makes fantastic tacos. If you... More
