It is very disappointing that our visit to Three Penny was so disappointing! We have had some very good meals and beer in the past, but this was not one of them. I hope it was just an off night and not a trend. The service was just plain bad, really bad. The hostess was within sight, but she was... More

We stopped here after finding it on Tripadvisor, but I'm not sure why it's #2 in Montpelier (as of today). We managed to get seated pretty quickly, but there was a lot of confusion as to who our server was and it took about 5-10 minutes for them to decide and take our order. This should have warned us of... More

We visited the Taproom for dinner on the way up to go skiing. The Taproom has a nice atmosphere and a great beer selection. The Taproom's pub food cuisine is very good and reasonably priced. The place is definitely worth a visit.

Amazing mussels in a ginger broth tasted great with one of the best VT beers: Hill Farmstead's Edward.

Stopped here with my husband for lunch and found it extremely overpriced. The food was fine, nothing spectacular, limited menu; the beers were okay but not spectacular. The service was very good, and staff very welcoming, but better places around for a beer and a sandwich.

I went to 3 Penny due to the great reviews. I really wanted a great burger and many had commented that they were great. I went on a weekday at dinner time. The place overwhelmingly reeked of fish and I almost walked out. It was nauseating. The server told us it was a "special", tho there is fish on the... More

Great tap beers / but many are only 12 oz.i'm sorry, I know the beers are good but $8 for a 12 oz draft beer? What happened to the pint? Good burgers and fries but the soup and veg pizza need a little spice (reduction) adjusting.... Prices are a bit steep for what you get. So if your willing to... More

We love 3 Penny for after work, a croud, lots of beer selection and soccer playing on the screens! And when we don't feel like cooking, the burgers at the bar are excellent. The staff is friendly, the croud is enjoying the atmosphere. Wish they would close the rest. Side and make it all bar!

Went on a Sunday, to what must have been brunch. I had fantastic chicken and waffles, while my girlfriend enjoyed a delicious, cooked to order burger. We ordered fries before the meal, and they were hands down the best French fries I have eaten. The beer selection was great, with two Hills Farmsteads among the other great choices. I suggest... We decided to try Three Penny Taproom after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor and it became one of our favorite restaurants in the area. The selection of beers was fantastic, they had a lot of local beers including beers from Hill Farmstead, The Alchemist and Lawson's. The food was amazing, specifically the burger and fries. I would recommend getting an... More
