A good place for a casual meal and a beer

The taproom offers a long list of small batch beers, but is also a good restaurant. I have enjoyed lunch there twice and I am not a beer aficionado. I will have a glass with lunch once in awhile, but it is not the focus of my meal yet I found this a good place. The menu has the normal... read more

We often go here for lunch or dinner and take guests and visitors. Awesome selection of local and international microbrew beers. Great eclectic seasonal food selection - not your typical bar food. That said, the burger is super. Friendly wait staff.

Love this bar. Great beers on tap, good cocktails as well. Waitstaff helpful and knowledgeable. Even if you're just sitting at the bar, you will get plenty of attention. Order the calamari!

On Sunday, August 30, we visited this restaurant, our first visit since November of 2014. I ordered the same thing each time, hamburger with fries. Whereas, I was most pleased with the quality of the food in November, this time it was not as good. I asked for the hamburger to be medium well, but it was charred. The fries... More

Great selection of Craft pours, as usual in Vt heavy on the IPA's but plenty of other genres too. I had the pulled pork and my wife tried the fish and chips both were excellent. The fries were a little wimpy but very tasty. The bartender Clara was a pleasant and knowledgeable host, pretty, personable and knowledgeable - the whole... More

We heard great things about Three a Penny Taproom. Montpelier has only meter parking spaces -- bring your own change. We didn't and the restaurant deals only in paper currency. Finally managed to get change. Took a long time to get waited on even though it is small. They told my wife that getting her burger well done would take... More

Great beers, and fun pub food. The brews are listed on the board but ask your server if you want some expert advice. Fun, adventurous food menu. A great place to hang out -- but don't expect peace & quiet.

Great service. Great burger. Amazing craft ales, and a gigantic range of them. And the decor is simple but nice. And the toilets are clean. What's not to like? :)

Pros: Really is a taproom with a bar on one side and small dining room next door. Funky place in a funky town. Choice of craft beers features IPAs. Food and service are good but this is bar food. Cons: Really is a taproom. Funky. Dining room is small and good get crowded in a hurry.

A fantastic representation of local beers, with highly engaging and knowledgeable staff behind the bar (at least in the evening). The food is delightful, cooked to order, and locally sourced for a taste you won't find elsewhere. A delightful atmosphere ties it all together to make this a great place to burn some hours.
