If you don't live in Montpelier, Kismet is reason enough to plan a road trip! The chic, farm-to-table, community-oriented restaurant is Montpelier's first organic restaurant and offers up an inspired menu featuring fresh, local ingredients and meals crafted with love. Chef/owner Crystal Maderia creates seasonal craft cocktail and dinner menus that are sophisticated, creative, and complimented by her natural wine and artisan beer lists. All dishes are made naturally with local meats, organic produce, and sustainably harvested regional fish and seasonings from the restaurant's very own garden. It doesn't get any fresher than this! A great atmosphere, an inspired and nourishing menu, and a friendly staff make Kismet a local favorite.

Warm and friendly on a cold night.

It's cold in Vermont in February, but Kismet will warm your tummy and your soul. Friendly informative staff and original recipes done to a turn. Don't miss the chocloate gingerbread dessert.

My son(vegan) and his girl(vegetarian) were here the week after Christmas from N.C and were very, very impressed with the menu and the variety that was available to them. The food they received was delicious, and they still are talking about it!! Nice.. :)

Kismet is my absolute favorite restaurant. Why? Because the food is absolutely gorgeous, featuring local, organic ingredients, and the staff are welcoming and unpretentious. The environment is warm and neighborly, and chef/owner Crystal is amazingly gracious and humble. We love to sit at the bar and enjoy watching bartender Nicole finesse some of the most beautiful concoctions. Our favorites are... More

The red snapper was cooked perfectly - a little crust on the top - and the rest was flakey. The seasoning of all dishes was fantastic. Will go back again

Crystal knows her stuff! As a chef I enjoy eating here. The place is cozy, hip and romantic at the same time.

This was our second time visiting Kismet and it continues to be a wonderful place for dinner in downtown Montpelier. The staff and atmosphere are welcoming and the menu choices are creative and good. We happened to have the beef tenderloin and the snapper and both were wonderful. It is not cheap, but I think we will return for another... More

My husband and I go to Kismet for birthdays or if we just need a night out. We love to sit at the bar as the company and conversation are always lively, and it is less noisy than the dining area. The food is amazing - fresh, local and seasonal ingredients serve as the basis for highly creative and beautifully... More

Fresh local ingredients, lots of organic products, very creative dishes, meat and vegetarian alike. Besides the wonderful variety of food, a great array of daily specials, seasonal dishes created in their kitchen, and a really fine wine and cocktail list, the staff here is happy, expert, friendly, caring, and very professional. Sunday brunch is remarkable, with different kinds of eggs... More

The food at Kismet is fresh, mostly local, and always delicious!! Consistently! My recent favorite meal was the seared scallops with braised greens and crushed fingerling potatoes. My friend had the Red Snapper meal which I tasted, and it was also delicious! You also can't beat their burger meals, always good, they come with mesclun greens and fingerlings.

We were 2 couples out for a nice dinner. The service was impeccable. The food surprisingly delicious, all locally organically sourced, which was important to us. Our carnivore guests had the sirloin steak with the most delicious local potatoes. They were so happy they asked the waitress where the vegetables had been grown. My vegan wife had the tempay dish...
