We were here during Columbus Day week for dinner, and we were able to eat outside in the tented area. It's very pretty out there next to the river and decorated with little white lights. The food was good, but, to me, not exceptional. Actually, I had the fall salad which was great. The entrees were just ok. I wanted... More

Some reviews complained about the service. We were here on a busy Middlebury weekend and everything was excellent. I liked it all, From the hot local cider, to the hearty soup, tasty sandwiches, local beers, and one of the best banana cream pies I have ever tasted. Good value in a simple setting.

I had lunch with two friends. All the tables outside were taken so we were seated indoors. When we asked if we could move outside when a table opened up, the hostess said "No". Not very accommodating.

We were passing thru Middlebury on our way to Stowe and went to their farmers market and walked around town. Decided to have lunch here and were very pleasantly surprised by the Storm Cafe. We ate a very nice lunch on the patio overlooking the river, service was good and not hurried even though they were very busy. There was... More

I loved this place and the atmosphere was charming. We sat inside and it was intimate and romantic. Great food and the server was so nice. I'd come back here again.

We had the best time at their lobster bake. All cooked perfectly. The potatoes, corn on the cob, steamers, mussels and lobster. We were so glad we stopped in, we had a great time with views of the river. Yum!!

I always go to the Storm Cafe when I want a good lunch that is not overly expensive. The lunch menu is mostly soup, salads and sandwiches but both the salad and sandwiches are inventive and reliably tasty. You can also order combinations like soup and half a sandwich or soup and salad. The food is consistently good and the... More

Thank you fellow reviewers for recommending Storm Cafe. It did not disappoint. The outdoor seating, while small is relaxing. The service was 1st class. The food was delicious. I had the Tomato basil Soup which was divine and a yummy panini with artichokes and mushrooms. My husband enjoyed his burger very much. I wish we lived closer to Middlebury!
