Make sure you call ahead for a reservation. We had been here several years ago for brunch buffet and it was amazing and delicious. We recently returned for dinner. This is a very clean restaurant with nostalgia filled walls. There is a real boat as part of the salad area. As far as a salad bar goes they have much... More

I've made fire and ice my stop since the early 90's whenever I was in middlebury (2-3 times a year from 1993-1999), and I must say that, unfortunately, the quality and variety of foods that always drew me there has declined sharply in the last 10 years. Still good service and nice atmosphere, though I think this year was my... More

We have heard great things about this restaurant, so we decided to take the trip over the mountain. Well worth it!! The place is so intriguing and many interesting things to look at the minute you walk in the door. The salad bar was extensive and the meals were great. It was definitely NOT a boring restaurant experience!! There was... More

This restaurant is full of things to look at. There is a salad ballroom full of bread, cheese, sushi and salad. With all there was to see and taste, we were a little disappointed that food quality was just ok.

This was a fabu place to dine in the center of Middlebury and was walking distance from our bed and breakfast. The decor was really amazing and worth a visit just to see all the local historic artifacts decorating the themed rooms and bar areas. The salad bar was incredibly extensive with boiled shrimp, all sorts of salads and even... More

Have been eating here for over ten years for special occasions, it's a great place to bring people from out of town as the decor is crammed with Americana, paintings, prints and photographs and the lay out full of cubby holes with some larger rooms (not so pleasing for intimate dining). The centre piece is a beautiful speedboat around which... More

The biggest 1 1/4 lb lobster my wife and I ever ate.. While they advertise the lobster as 1 1/4 ... its more than that... so you get your monies worth. Plus the assortment at the salad bar which includes shrimp ..... can be a meal in itself. We were there in the afternoon so it was not crowded but... More

For a small town, this restaurant is definitely a great place to go for a dinner to remember. The decor makes this place look like a museum and the varied food makes this a great venue for Middlebury.

While the food quality has declined some over the years, it is still good, and the atmosphere is nice.
