I like to allow a few days to pass before I review a business. As for Fire and Ice (FI), this is what I did. Upon entering you have to admire the work that has gone in to decorating this place. It is quite extensive, unique, and must be very expensive for upkeep. We were in during a weeknight in... More

Very different and unique atmosphere. The food and service were equally good. The prime rib, steak, and twice baked potatoes were very good.

If you are looking for a wonderful Vermont ambiance in a restaurant that is authentically designed with the history of Middlebury from the early 1900's you will find it at Fire and Ice. Very interesting photos and memorabilia from the Middlebury College. Elegantly designed with rustic barnwood, on different levels with many very private romantic booths. A old nostalgic wooden... While visiting Middlebury, we dinned with brother in law, and niece. This was our first time here at this restaurant. I must say we were very very impressed, not only by the service, the great dinner we had, but certainly the inside of the restaurant itself. When visiting Middlebury, this place is the place to enjoy a great meal, and... More

We just finished a wonderful meal here. All 5 of us had scallops, followed by strawberry cheese cake. We will definitely be back on our next trip up from NJ.

There were five us, and we all had salad bar followed by a meal of scallops, salmon and steak. The service was very good and the meal was also excellent. My niece said they have the best chocolate milk for miles. This is the third year we have eaten there and plan on returning there next year.

Plenty to look at with all the little nooks and crannies and the decorations. Food is great and the salad bar well above average. They also offer a bread bar.

This place was recommended to us by a local we met at the Morgan Horse farm. Service and food were great. They had a buffet, but we ordered off of the menu. We were told by our waitress that we could go up to the buffet to get milk, fresh bread ( several kinds ) and cheese as often as... More

Food is of very low quality. Ate there last night and got sick after returning most of my food uneaten. Totally gross. Prime Rib seemed to be orange (red dye?), salad bar bread was stale. Worst meal i've had in years.
