Very accommodating to a difficult diet

I went to Fire & Ice with my husband, parents and step-sister. I was on a very limited diet. They allowed me to bring my own food and even cooked it perfectly for me. My mother and step-sister enjoyed the salad bar. My husband had the swordfish with pesto and fresh mozzarella, and my... read more

Four of us dined here on a Monday night. There aren't many choices in Middlebury on a Monday evening. The burger was good, the King's cut prime was good, and the salmon was bland/tasteless. Tastelessness was not a problem with the Cashew Vegetable Stir Fry. One of our group ordered this dish with scallops. The dish arrived w/o cashews and... More

The salad bar alone is enough reason to go to Fire and Ice. It is amazing! Shrimp, all the regular salad items plus fresh bread, awesome cheese and chocolate milk to die for. The beef was wonderful, drinks delish and service spot on. Look forward to going again.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel staff. They said "by far it was the best place in town." I'll give you...it is charming. Lots to look at on the walls. The boat in the middle of the restaurant was kinda cool. The staff were friendly. The food was not good however. The "fabulous" salad bar was nothing special.... More

This is a wonderful restaurant right in our hometown of Middlebury. We go here about 2-3 times per year for a nice dinner out. The food is quite expensive, but it is well worth it! The service is always top notch as well. We have never had a bead dining experience here. Would recommend it to everyone traveling through central... More

We sat at the bar and had a nice dinner. I also got the salad bar that was decent but not awesome. My husbands shrimp sandwich was one of the best he has had.

Service was so slow, people in the group finishing their meal as others were just getting their meal. We had some elderly people falling asleep. The food was okay and I guess I would go back to see if it was better if there wasn't so many of us. But they had plenty of time to prepare, the reservation was... More

Had heard only wonderful things prior to my visit thus one could question whether my experience was Fire and Ice having a bad day ...... We arrived on Monday evening about 5pm to find both the pub and restaurant areas both quite busy. After standing around looking lost for five minutes we obtained a pub table by asking a passing... Just one thing after another went wrong. Sat down to a table that was never properly cleaned. Ordered drinks...Bloody Mary's were no more that tomato juice in a glass. No spices, salt or pepper etc added. My wife got a kettle martini. Extra was brought to table in a soda glass full of ice. Melted down instantly. No silverware was... More

Excellent staff and a nice variety/selection of beers. Salad bar is a meal in itself. Walls are covered with local history and there is a 1920s boat inside the restaurant, but it all works for them!
