Rainbow Sweets makes and serves some of the best pastries I've had. Their meat pies, spinach pies, spanakopita, European style pastries and desserts are incredible. All of their food is wrapped in dough or created in pie form. You'll end up eating more than you expected, all the while being entertained by Bill, the owner. Enough other reviewers explain the... My friends and I were driving from Burlington to Bretton Woods and we decided to take a break when we reached Marshfield. This cafe is right on Route 2, so it is quite easy to spot. We walked in to find quite a few of European style pastries on display, and we were recommended "Johnny Depps" (their version of profiteroles).... More

Our family stopped in this cafe/bakery seeing the sign that said it served "lunch & dinner" - expecting hoagies or pizza and being pleasantly surprised to find a very unique dining experience. The dishes are all baked meals of recipes from all over the world and the desserts are just amazing. But, what we enjoyed the most, was the owner... More

Had to slow going through Marshfield or we would have gone right by Rainbow Sweets. Fortunately, we stopped and were thoroughly entertained by the owner. His patter was well practiced to the extent we ended up with a bigger take away lunch than we intended. However, all the good things he said about the food was an understatement for sure.... More

A fun experience- while I found the owner entertaining, he annoyed my husband with his pushiness. When the customers that were in before us left without tipping him, the owner made fun of them to us and called them down. The empanadas were delicious. The Johnny Depp Profiterole dessert he pushes is just fair, if it wasn't so pricey we... More

I stopped at this place to buy bread and then I saw the good looking empanadas and other desserts available. The owner was strange bordering on the rude. No menu with prices was offered and there were no prices posted anywhere. The empanadas were good and so were the profiteroles. the italian bread was also quite good. We asked for... More

We have been to Rainbow Sweets in Marshfield, Vermont several times but this is the first time I've written a review. This tiny café and bakery is nestled in the little town of Marshfield very close to the Cabot Cheese operation. The food is divine; there's no other word for it. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired but the... More

I stopped here by chance years ago and have always remembered it. I tend to be on the look out for small town cafe's and this one continues to stay on my top ten list. The owner is super engaging and his love for the food he prepares shows in the taste of lunches or treats! Have been back any... More

I stopped by accident on a road trip through Vermont. We were on our way to the Cabot Creamery when a motor vehicle accident closed the road in front of us. After a scenic trip over and through the woods, we emerged onto the hard road directly in front of Rainbow Sweets. Serendipity strikes again. My 4 year old son... More
