excellent food and atmosphere

excellent meal, friendly staff, good prices! A lot of history in the building. We were seated immediately in a quiet booth by the windows.

After looking at the menus for several restaurants in Manchester, we picked the Ye Olde Tavern based on their vegetarian options (I'm a veggie, my boyfriend is not though), and that's always an important consideration. We were so extremely pleased with our choice! The ambiance of the restaurant is great; you feel (because you are) dining in an old colonial... More

Adrienne, Thanks a million times for your visit and your enthusiastic review! We understand that finding vegetarian-friendly options might be a bit of a challenge while on vacation. Chef Cooper has created vegetarian-options that do not make you feel you are compromising and we love it when he achieves this goal. We are thrilled that your boyfriend also loved his... More

I visit Manchester several times a year with my boyfriend and we finally got to try this place. The price of our dinner was a little more than what we normally spend, but it was totally worth every penny! The staff was wonderful everyone (not just our waiter) made sure we had everything we needed and the food was delicious.... More

We were recommended this tavern by the innkeepers at the Inn on Covered Bridge Green where we were staying, as we wanted somewhere special to eat that wasn't too fancy and overpriced. There was free parking at the back of the tavern and we didn't have a reservation, we could see as we entered the tavern that it was pretty... More

Alissa, This is exactly what we strive to achieve -- As a proprietor, there is nothing else I want more than for my guests to love their dining experience. Thank you very much for including Ye Olde Tavern in your Vermont experience and the next time you are south of the border, we hope to see you again. Michael More

The Inn is a historic restaurant offering traditional American fare. The bar area is out of an old western movie . . . you'll imagine the door to the place swinging open and some gunslingers clunking their dusty holsters down for a cold one. We tried what they suggested as their famous Lobster Mac & Cheese at an appetizer before... More

This is not a review I like to see. I do not often get upset with customer feedback (usually it is a great learning tool), but sometimes when I believe the review is not fair. 1 - We are a circa 1790 COLONIAL INN not a saloon from the old west with 'swinging doors and gunslingers'. Clearly, our connection is to... More

Stayed in Manchester VT this weekend and wanted to celebrate a birthday dinner for one in our group. It was an AMAZING dinner. Cranberry fritters with maple butter, onion soup, steak with garlic butter; everyone's food was phenomenal. We had three motorcycles with us and a rain storm came, the manager opened up the side barn and let us put... More

Could tell by the building that this would be recommended and it was. It was ok. Asked for liver medium and it was well done. Told waitress, said I'm sorry. to replace I would have to had to wait and husband would have been done, so didn't push issue. The cranberry fritters and Maple cream butter were the best part... Thank you for dining at our historic inn and the valuable feedback. I am happy with 50% of the review but as for the liver, I'm surprised and sad to hear you found it anything less than perfect. You are the 2nd review that has mentioned this dish. I am going to make it a point to work with the... More

First of all, I would like to say that I would give this venue a 3 & 1/2 rating not 3, but it was not an option. This is a very quaint, historical venue. It is well known for it's Lobster Mac & Cheese which was delicious. My husband, unfortunately ordered a veal dish which sounded wonderful but was very... More

First and foremost, thank you for making us part of your Vermont experience. I wish you had mentioned it while dining with us, we would have had no issue making you a new one. Our... More
