The food here was really good. The baguette that was served on the table was fresh, warm, and tasty. The butter was good. I had the Roasted Beets & Fromage Blanc Maison salad to start, which was okay but a bit boring. My boyfriend had the Seared Foie Gras, which he liked. I then had the Short Rib Boeuf Bourguignon,... My husband and I were looking forward to dining here, and we're able to book a table via opentable. The host was so unfriendly and unwilling to seat us anywhere, despite open table. Having just come from our hotel, the equinox, I was really offended by his boorish behavior. The restauranteurs are far nicer in Paris. It's only Vermont. Get... More

ALL OpenTable reservations are honored, always. Please send us your account information; we would be happy to investigate this and OpenTable will confirm. On our busiest nights there are many unreserved parties who expect to have dinner and are turned away. There was an especially confrontational moment last night when an empty table, scheduled for a reservation, was the focus... More

There are fewer than a half a dozen excellent restaurants in Bennington County. Brasserie L'Oustau is world class. Great food (steak and pomme frites) great wine, attentive service. Highly recommended.

Great food here. Some of the best in town. I won't go into details except to say every time we eat here it's outstanding.Best French food outside of Montral or perhaps Brasserie Jo in Boston.

Short ribs were great ! Not to mention salmon 3 ways as an appetizer and creme brûlée as my desert. Loved it ! Service was also very knowledgeable and very professional.

When at our Vermont house, we usually make sure to come here at least once while here. The food and service are always very good. This time we started with the Onion Soup Gratinee and the mussels for appetizers. Both were very good. Warm bread and butter always arrive at the table shortly after one is seated. The french bread... More

Once again, we had an excellent lunch here while visiting Manchester Vermont. The service is wonderful, the bar is gorgeous and the food is superb. We were sorry we didn't have the time to have dinner here but will do so when we return. Yummy!

I'm usually not a big fan of French food, but we just finished brunch at this bistro and are still savoring the wonderful flavors. I had an omelet with perfectly grilled asparagus, accompanied by arugula salad and excellent shoestring potatoes. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the prix fixe menu--a real bargain at $25 for three courses: arugula salad with poached egg,... More

I'll believe that this is in the top five French restaurants in Vermont, but no way is it top five in the country. The food was good not great. The service was seemingly good around us but ours was average at best. I'd eat here again but clearly think the food doesn't live up to the hype.

We shared a pleasant outdoor dining experience with friends at this charming restaurant in mid July. Service was attentive and friendly but unobtrusive. The location is beautiful and the outside tables have umbrellas that are easily moved by staff as the direction of the sun changes. Please note the staff moved the umbrellas without our asking. In the garden area as... More
