we ate here for my birthday. My husband and I both had the boullabaise and salads. We shared a nice bottle of French wine. The menu is comprehensive and wine list heavy on French wines...as it should be. we loved the ambiance. The staff was busy but very attentive to us. I highly recommend

Our family of six visited during the American Thanksgiving weekend which might account for the fact that the restaurant fell below expectations. On the positive side, the availability of nouveau Beaujolais, the escargot entrees and the onion soup all rated a thumb's up but the duck confit was served on a salad base, the steak tartare was unlike anything that... We went to Brasserie L'Oustau for a nice romantic dinner for two while visiting Manchester. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and the staff was very attentive. The food was excellent and well presented. The pace of the food was very good. Over all I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion from anniversary to just a nice... More

Was at Brasserie L'Oustau this evening to celebrate with my new husband. Was surprised to find such a good French restaurant in such a small (yet elegant) town. We checked out the amazing menu online and then made reservations--it was a Monday so I had the Coq au Vin and my spouse had the Stewed Rabbit. We also had appetizers... More

I choose this beautiful restaurant for my birthday dinner and couldn't have been happier. We started we a martini properly served in a large martini glass with some tasty prince island oysters. For my entre I had beef tenderloin which was cooked to a perfect medium with an amazing bernaise sauce and my date had a very tender and fresh... More

Although I've been coming to Manchester for the past 30+ years, this is the first time I dined at this lovely restaurant and was pleasantly surprised to find such a delicious French meal so close to home. We were greeted by the owner and our waitress was very nice and helpful. After appetizers and main courses of foi gras, oysters,... More

We sat at the bar and had dinner on a Friday night in "slow season". We were told the bartender was on vacation and the wait staff would be taking care of us. They all of a sudden got very busy and we did not have good service. The meals came out luke warm at best and the service was... More

Thank you for your review. That you chose to come for dinner after your first visit in March 2012, early in our opening, is a very nice compliment. We are sorry the circumstances this time were not as satisfying. It is true that a restaurant will reduce staff during off-peak seasons. When we do, we encourage all dinner guests into... More

We dined at Brasserie L'Oustau de Provence for the first time during our brief visit to Manchester, VT. The dining experience was exceptional. The ambiance was very conducive to good food, with adequate but comfortable lighting. The service was flawlessly exceptional. The food was well prepared and very delicious. My husband had the beet salad, beef bourguignon, and chocolate pots... More

There are many fine restaurants in Manchester. When our first two choices were unavailable, we chose Brasserie and it did not disappoint. If you cannot get into the Silver Fox, don't be discouraged. You will have a wonderful meal and great service at Brasserie. I had outstanding bronzini -- probably the best I have ever had. My husband's duck confit... More

We had been the the previous restaurant in the past, and Brasserie is a huge improvement. We'll definitely go back on our next trip.
