If you want foamed or dotted sauces, fusion style, stacked foods, experimental cuisines, go elsewhere. If you want extraordinarily well prepared traditional French cooking, go here. The Beef Bourguignon was one of the best things I've ever eaten. As soon as I got home I went to my dusty copy of Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking to... More

Two of us enjoyed the cocktail menu (pear martini, Fellini Bellini, and the Elderflower Power martini), music and atmosphere, and entrees as well as the Peppermint Schnapps hot chocolate with incredibly thick fresh whipped cream on top. There are some tables outside if you prefer to eat outside. We actually enjoyed being inside and noticed a great deal of natural... More

We arrived on Sunday evening for dinner without reservations and was greeted warmly by the host. We gladly accepted the offer to dine at the comfortable bar and enjoyed perfectly chilled martinis. Without knowing anything about this restaurant, we were SO very happy with our chance and choice for dining here. Very attractive restaurant, well trained and attentive wait staff.... More

Excellent meal, with attentive service in a lovely restaurant with great choices on an interesting menu. Lots of typical brasserie fare plus some updates, such as tuna tartare. The prix fixe is a bargain at $25 for brunch and $35.00 for dinner. This was a wonderful surprise and we look forward to returning.

Wonderful meal in very nice surroundings of this restaurant. One of the newer and nicer dining areas in this region (seemingly). Good basic French food, although we loved the tuna tartare. Steak frittes (sp?) was terrific. The prix fixe is an excellent value. A little disappointed that they were out of certain things on a Monday night but that's how... More

The personal touch is evident the minute you walk in the door. The owner greets you and checks back with you during dinner. We enjoyed a cocktail at the beautiful bar. The mixologist and I concocted a delicious martini. She's a gem. My husband and I coco vin (sp?) - lovely.

This was the second time we have been to Brasserie L'Oustau and they did not disappoint. It was our anniversary and we wanted something just a bit special, which this restaurant is indeed. They stick to very traditional French cuisine, which is refreshing. The staff is superb - really top notch. The service is seamless, there is just enough time... More

I visited Brasserie L'Oustau with a group of friends and family (9) for a Saturday evening dinner, after a relaxing day in beautiful Manchester. First, you must know that the culinary competition in Manchester is exceptionally strong (e.g., the Silver Fork), but I believe that the Brasserie is right up there as one of the best in the area. The... More

A very nice evening at Brasserie L'Oustau. Great service, wonderful food. The steak frites was excellent. The staff handled a table of unruly diners very professionally. Highly recommended.
