We have eaten there several times over the past few months. This is an unusual place. The menu never stays the same, giving us a chance to experience meals we otherwise would never have done. The ambience, the smiles, the food is something to go by. Every guest/friend we have taken to this place have raved about it. Highly recommend.

Highly recommended by the locals at the Market, we grabbed two seats at the bar (first come first serve) as they were booked with reservations until 9pm! Vast drink selection and amazing chips on the bar. I had the homemade Tagliatelle wtih clams, whtie wine sauce, chili flakes, cherry and heirloom tomatoes....might be the best dish I have ever had!... More

When we first walked into Downtown Grocery, I was a bit grumpy. It was crowded and noisy. Some things I fancied to eat were marked off the board. However, it didn't take long to have that grumpy feeling replaced by delight. I went in looking for comfort food. I was pushed off that spot, and was happier for it! On... More

My wife said after leaving Downtown Grocery: "That was the best meal I ever had." I replied: I am so thrilled they offer great vegetarian options along with their usual fare. We had two different three course meals off their set menu and a couple of Martini specials. The portions were just right . The wait staff are very friendly... More

This is one if the best restaurants I have ever experienced. When you walk into this rustic quaint restaurant, you are immediately greeted by friendly staff. The specials of the day are written on a blackboard in the entrance of the restaurant which is then coupled with their regular menu. We began with the heirloom tomato salad with ricotta, the... More

We thought the menu and prices were equivalent to Ny city prices unfortunately your not in ny city. My daughter is a vegetarian there wasn't anything on the menu but, desert for her. It was crowded, hit and quite frankly the food was mediocre

Pulling up to The Downtown Grocery you think "Oh, how quaint! This should be a nice meal." Nice doesn't even begin to cover it! From the minute you come in you're greeted with the most wonderful sights, sounds and SMELLS!! My husband and I were a little early, but our table was ready and we were seated very quickly. Abby... Perfect date night on our vacation. The food was prepared beautifully and the atmosphere was calming. This place cares about the product they put out and it shows!

It is NOT inexpensive. That said there is a lot of thought going into the offerings. I had a wonderful chicken hash. Who'd have thought? Potatoes sauteed in duck fat, chicken ... yum. Tasty creme brulee for dessert. Wine and nice company sitting at the bar. I love the place!

We took a chance and walked in without reservations on a Saturday night. Abbey, the co-owner we later found out, promptly found us a table and we were seated with a smile. The menu was eclectic with local ingredients. We enjoyed handcrafted cocktails as well. Lindsey, our waitress, was very accommodating and friendly. We got engaged the night before and... More
