Enjoyed Route 4 Country Store. Expected a more-or-less full on restaurant, but was very pleased to sit on their porch eating brisket, and drinking root beer. -Brisket was good--on the greasy side, but pretty flavorful. -Pulled pork a little dry by itself, but absorbed their sauce nicely. -Good smoked chicken. -Sauce is vinegar based with maybe some maple syrup. Very... More

Driving home from a weekend in Montpelier we all were hungry and took the nearest exit, finding this little gem. Had a delicious lunch -- BBQ brisket and beans cooked in maple syrup for me -- on the front porch. I'm a native Texan with high BBQ standards and wasn't disappointed in the brisket. The beans were probably the best... More

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Montreal. In spite of the name, I expected a restaurant or a place with at least some tables. We shared a meat loaf sandwich and a BBQ brisket sandwich, both of which were tasty but nowhere in the 5-star range. Given all the great reviews, it just may have been an off... More

This is a situation where Trip Advisor works well. Based on the other reviews, we gave it a try on the way home from skiing Killington. The outside and inside are typical Vermont general store. Don't let than scare you and order up the best pulled pork sandwiches you will find anywhere. We also got the Route 4 sampler, which... More

We stayed at the campground right across the street from here. It has a little bit of everything, drinks, wine, beer, sandwiches, everything you could need for a country store. They even have their own wood fired BBQ smoker out front with decent BBQ food. Not the best BBQ I've had but very good to say the least. Worth the... More

You can't miss the smoker, lol... Walk inside the charming country store and the delicious aroma of smoked meat can't be missed. Food is great and they make some wonderful dark chocolate treats. If driving by it's worth taking the time and stopping by for an awesome lunch or supper.

Best. Wings. Ever. Anything you order there is scrumptious, but do yourself a favor and enjoy the settings or anything from the smoker. This is the only place we went twice while we were in the area. We bought them out of wings the second time.
