Went to Ray's for dinner with family. Order at counter and seat yourself. Started with the seafood chowder which had good flavor, but was not thick like I expected chowder to be. Had the lobster roll with chips for 14 bucks which was good. Tried my mom's clam strips which were very good. Also tried the battered fish which was... More

Based on mostly good reviews, I decided to give it a try. I had the platter with fried shrimp, scallops and clams. The shrimp and scallops were very good but the clams seemed a little petrified/dried out. The fries were a big blob of greasy mush. If you're ordering take out, I would recommend skipping the fries and going with... More

We came back from 9 days at the shore and stopped in our local seafood marked and had a great meal. Good french fries made from fresh potato, fantastic coleslaw with no mustard in the dressing and slightly sweet, just as I like it and Fried Haddock and Clam Strips and the seafood was neither over or under done. The... More

Ray's has been around for decades and customers can always count on the same food...nothing fancy, but ok if you're looking for something quick. Prices are a bit steep for take-out or eating in considering it's self-serve, but the portions are generous.

My son and I ate here for lunch and have mixed opinions. You order at the counter and go choose a table, waiting for your number to be called. I ordered Mate's shrimp and scallops $12.95: Comes with coleslaw, a basic generic white roll and butter, and I chose a baked potato. Too much food. Next time I will stick... More

I ordered takeout food by phone and was given a pickup time. I arrived on time and was told wait would be 15mins. When I complained I was told "I did not take the order". After another wait of 20mins I went to counter to check status and found that my order had been sitting on the counter. When I... More

Honestly Ray's Seafood is the best seafood restaurant in Vermont. This place is like the seafood shacks along the coast where real people eat real seafood. There is nothing fancy about Ray's except the delight everyone takes in eating there. My favorite is the fried scallops but I also love the baked or broiled halibut. The fried oysters and whole... Ray's is more like a diner than a restaurant. That seems to be acceptable to its clientele. They always seem to have a crowd. We tried the place on a lark and went back again to give it another shot. My wife had the lobster roll at $12.95 both times. Pretty expensive and the roll had more filling than lobster.... More

We're locals and we have been to Ray's many times with our most recent visit being last weekend. Ray's offers good food in a casual no-frills atmosphere. There is no fancy view here, it's all about the fresh seafood. When dining at Ray's you first order at the register and then find your own seat. Much of the seating is... More
