What a dinner we had! Everything was good and we barely had place for dessert which was also incredible. This is a perfect restaurant for couples who want to enjoy an nice, long, romantic evening with a several service dinner and a bottle a wine. It's a bit pricy but all worth it; it's a culinary experience after all.

We ate here this past weekend and what an experience it was! Each course was deelish and yes, rich too! Although chef Michael was a bit on the quiet side, his cooking was on point. He explained the plates, food, and method of preparation. The only negative I would say is that our meat dish was served barely warm, more... More

I did include this in my review of Amuse restaurant, which is located in The Essex hotel, but I'll recap here. The Chefs Table is the only way to go if you want to eat at Amuse. Up to twelve guests get the undivided attention of a top chef that creates, cooks, and serves a ten course dinner that the... More

Every meal we had at The Essex was special, including in the pub area. My wife and I reserved the Chefs Table - a 9 course treat. Each course was slaved over for hours by Chef Michael Clauss. Some food took weeks to prepare. We still can not figure out how The Essex makes any money at these dinners, since... More

I thought the food was very heavy cream and salt and this is after talking with the chef to have the food tailored to my taste as we were the only ones at the table that night. The chef was lovely but the style of cooking in not the way people eat these days and disappointing.

On our last nite at the resort we got to experience the Chefs table at the Essex resort. Chef Michael was our chef for the 11 course meal which was amazing! My husband doesn't eat seafood and I couldn't cause I'm pregnant which was easily accommodated for us even though they preset their menu which was hugely appreciated. The lamb... More

I’ll be honest, this was my very first Chef’s Table dinner. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I had various tasting menus before, but never with the chef preparing each meal right in front of us. Let me just say, it was a delight from start to finish, with the small exception of the hostess not finding our reservation.... More

Food was incredible. Great value. We had 10 courses, including a pallet cleanser and a special cocktail. Wine pairings were also excellent! I don't know where else in New England you can find that caliber of food and wine for that price!

We are veterans of the NYC chef's table scene but this stands up very well to those Michelin starred money pits. The focus here is on local produce - Cheese, meat and vegetables (those are from the garden out back). We had an 8 course meal (given the quality, $85pp is a steal). Started off with a chorizo with mango... More
